A social/cultural cause is that people from around the world were interacting. An economic cause is that many people were trading items which caused it to spread.
What is the Renaissance and what are its causes?
The Renaissance was a rebirth of classical learning and a rediscovery of ancient Rome and Greece. It's causes were to bring back the importance of writing and cultural arts by allowing artists, writers, sculptors, musicians and architects to look back to Greek and Roman times, and seek out ideas and inspiration from ancient texts.
How is Renaissance art different from medieval art?
They used strategies such as the one point perspective, the contrapposto, and the chiarascuro in their art.
What is humanism and how did it inspire the Renaissance?
Humanism is an intellectual movement that is focused on exploring the human experience and it inspired the Renaissance because the Renaissance was about self appreciation.
What is the Protestant Reformation?
Religious reform movement that divided the western church into Catholic and Protestant groups.
What caused the Protestant Reformation to occur and spread?
Martin Luther didn't like the way the Churches were run and didn't like the idea of indulgences. He decided to start Protestantism, spreading it using the printing press.
How did Protestantism challenge Catholicism?
Protestantism challenged Catholicism because in Protestantism people believed that the pope could be wrong and that the bible should be translated from Latin to more known languages such as French, German, and English.
