In our class so far, I hope you've come to the realization that a "class" or a "seminar" is not going to transform people into leaders. It takes passion to serve others, dedication, and personal accountability, along with a continuous desire to learn. Self-awareness as a leader is something that I came to realize significantly important to possess. I have always known the importance of knowing yourself in order to determine how to communicate effectively or perform successfully in most (if not all) situations; however, I was not aware of how important it is for someone in a leadership role to be self-aware - in all senses. In this way, the leader is able to identify their strengths and weaknesses, thus gaining the trust of their team members. Furthermore, it gives a leader the ability to work to improve in their areas of weakness and develop their leadership abilities in order to become stronger and more effective. Ultimately, self-awareness positively impacts team members and the business.
