YELLOW MARKINGS- used to separate traffic moving in opposite
directions (center line) and to mark the left edge of one-way roads and ramps, two-way left turn lanes, and painted medians.
SOLID YELLOW-used to mark the left edge of one-way roads and ramps.
BROKEN YELLOW-used to mark the center of a two-way road used for traffic traveling in opposite directions where passing is permitted for both directions.
YELLOW SOLID/YELLOW BROKEN-- used to mark a center line where passing is permitted for one direction of traffic, but not the other. If the solid yellow line is in your lane, it means you are not allowed to pass. Do not cross a solid yellow line on your side of the road to pass another vehicle.
DOUBLE SOLID YELLOW-used to mark a center line where passing is prohibited for both directions of traffic.
TWO WAY LEFT TURN- provided for making left turns. If a two-way left turn lane has been provided, do not make a left turn from any other lane.
PAINTED MEDIAN WITH DOUBLE SOLID YELLOW-The area between two directions of travel on the same roadway, you may make a left turn across such a median into an intersection, alley, private road and driveway after waiting for oncoming traffic to clear.
YELLOW DIAGONAL STRIPES- Used within a median to indicate fixed objects in the road ahead or other areas that are prohibited from vehicle use.
WHITE MARKINGS-are used to separate lanes of traffic flowing in the same direction as well as to mark the right edge of travel lanes. It also is used for crosswalks, stop lines, symbols, and words.
SOLID WHITE-used for an edge or fog line.
WIDE SOLID WHITE-used to channel or direct traffic into specific lanes or at intersections and to separate bike lanes from traffic lanes.
BROKEN WHITE-separates lanes for traffic going in the same direction.
DOTTED WHITE-informs you that the lane you are traveling in will not continue on the same route, such as a right-turn only lane or an exit only
lane on the freeway, a freeway entrance ramp, it informs you that you are entering the freeway and MUST merge into traffic,used within an intersection.
DOUBLE SOLID WHITE-means you are not allowed to change lanes.
WHITE CHEVRON- used to inform you of fixed objects in the road ahead
or other areas that are prohibited from vehicle use.
