4 types of routes
external routes type 1
external routes type 2
What does OSPF use to determine the shortest path?
What type of packet is used by OSPF to discover other routers?
The address used by OSPF for communication is which class of IPv4 address?
OSPF uses ____ to communicate with other routers on the network.
Between the two OSPF routers, one is a DR and the other one is a BDR. Which one propagates adjacency information?
DR - designated router
What does OSPF stand for?
Open Shortest Path First
What is the cisco command to start OSPF routing?
router ospf PROCESSNUMBER (1)

What are the key components of a bgp configuration?
Your AS number
Neighbor AS number (same for IBGP, different for EBGP)
Type of connection (specified on JunOS, implied by your AS and peer AS on IOS)
Local address (not needed on IOS)
What is the acronym bgp stands for?
Border Gateway Protocol
What class of IP is multicast?
What is the latest version of bgp that is used today?
version 4 - defined in RFC4271
In cisco, bgp is started by the command router bgp followed by an AS number . What is the range of that AS number?
Which of the following routing protocols use distance vector?
RIP (v1 or v2)
OSPF is a ___ protocol which all vendor routers can use.
An example of a classful routing protocol would be what?
RIP - Routing Information Protocol
IGRP - Interior Gateway Routing Protocol
What is the command to start OSPF in quagga?
Which of the following has the lowest administrative distance?
static routes ???
Bgp uses tcp as its transport protocol, which port does it use?
When you're entering a network subnet in OSPF, they are going to give you a mask but remember that in OSPF you have to invert the mask. So whatever mask they give you, remember to subtract all 255 from it and that will give you the inverse. So this question, they are going to give you a mask and they're asking you what should it be entered as?
Which type of bgp is used between a company and an ISP?
between AS's - external routing
What kind of bgp is used internally between a company's routers?
within an AS - internal routing
What should be used between other OSPF routers for security purposes?
message-digest-key / MD5 authentication
What is another term for OSPF summarization?

Which of the following is an example of a classless routing protocol?
In order for OSPF to be set up correctly, which area must be configured?
Match the four states of spanning tree as the port is connected to a device. So know the order of spanning tree and match them in that order from the first one to the last one.
Disabled - a port in the disabled state does not participate in frame forwarding and is considered non-operational
Blocking - during blocking state, the port is listening to and processing BPDUs. After 20 seconds, the switch port changes from the blocking state to the listening state
Listening - a root port or a designated port will move to a listening state. During this state the port discards the received frames. After 15 secs, the switch port moves from the listening state to the learning state.
Learning - the port listening for and processing BPDUs & also starts to process user frames and updating the MAC address table. User frames are not forwarded to the destination. After 15 seconds, the switch port moves forwarding.
Forwarding - the port will process BPDUs, update its MAC Address table with frames that it receives, and forward user traffic through the port. Forwarding state is the normal operational state.
