Federal law establishes a regulatory framework for the lawful manufacture, sale, and possession of firearms at the national level.
The two principal federal firearms laws currently in force are:
1.] the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA) and
2.] the Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA), as amended

The law is an Act of Congress in the United States that, in general, imposes an excise tax on the manufacture and transfer of certain firearms and mandates the registration of those firearms.
National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA)
known as the Gun Control Act, was signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson on October 22, 1968 banning mail order sales of rifles and shotguns and prohibiting most felons, drug users and people found mentally incompetent from buying guns.

Unlawful possession of a firearm is a class D felony, unless a person has been convicted of a dangerous felony as defined in section 556.061, in which case it is a class C felony.
Students will learn what a felon in possession encompasses.
Students will become familiar with the 9 prohibitions for firearms.
