Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis Def:
A component of linguistic relativity theory that argues language influences or even determines the way people think.
Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis
This hypothesis has been revised over time through changes in its emphasis on "determinism" or "relativism"
Firmir view (linguistic determinism):
language functions like a prison that once people learn it they are irrevocably affected by its particulars
