-glucocorticoids: have no side effects when given in low doses

-instruct pt to follow prescribed dosing schedule: Take in AM or take 2/3 in AM and 1/3 in PM (best option)
-life long treatment
-Flucocortisone must be used in combination with a glucocorticoid
-Flucocortisone: monitor for weight gain, elevation of BP, and hypokalemia
-carry emergency supply for addison's
-increase dose in times of stress (3*3)
