-reduce risk for impaired vision (limit eye movement (eye patch), position in a settled position, decrease stimulation in the environment)
-manage acute pain (narcotic analgesia, warm compress, dim the lights, soft voice, sun glasses if both eyes aren't patched)
-Reduce risk for injury (call light within reach, bed alarm, dont get up, dont tough your eyes, open mouth sneeze, HOB 30 degrees, colase to keep from being constipated, antiemetics are appropriate)
