People access society's benefits through social participation. People have a right not to be shut out from social participation. This applies in a special way to work. Work allows human beings to participate in God's work of creation. The dignity of work and the rights of workers need to be protected.
"The social conditions that allow people to reach their full human potential and to realize their human dignity." These include: "respect for the person," "the social well-being and development of the group" and the maintenance by public authority of "peace and security." This is true both of individual societies and of the global community.
