FLEXION
a movement which decreases the angle between two bones
EXTENSION
a movement which increases the angle between two bones
ABDUCTION
a movement away from the midline of the body
ADDUCTION
a movement towards or across the midline of the body
CIRCUMDUCTION
a circular movement of a part of the body
ROTATION
a movement where the body part turns around an axis
LATERAL ROTATION
turning outward
MEDIAL ROTATION
turning inward
SUPINATION
lateral rotation of the forearm facing the palm upward
PRONATION
medial rotation of the forearm facing the palm downward
PLANTARFLEXION
the toes point downwards to the ground.
DORSIFLEXION
the toes are pulled upwards towards the shin
INVERSION
medial rotation of the foot turning the sole inwards
EVERSION
lateral rotation of the foot turning the sole outwards
