- 2 towels (barrier + linen protector)
- 2 pairs of gloves

BEGIN
- knock on door
- Hello (Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening) Mr/Ms/Mrs. _________________, my name is _________________, I'm going to be caring for you this morning/this afternoon/this evening.
- explain care before + after
- wash hands
- gather supplies
- add privacy curtain
- lock bed wheels
- bed to waist level
- add gloves

1 - lower head of bed
2 - add privacy blanket
3 - roll resident on side OR lift hips
4 - remove existing incontinent pad under resident
5 - add NEW incontinent pad under resident
6 - add bedban on residents butt + roll resident back on back OR add bedpan under butt
7 - remove gloves + wash hands
8 - raise head of bed + lowest position
9 - leave toilet paper/wipes with resident
10 - ask resident to call when done
11 - call light within reach
13 - bed to waist level + lower head of bed
12 - wash hands + add gloves
14 - roll resident on side OR lift hips (HOLDING BEDPAN DOWN)
15 - remove bedpan + cover bed pan with towel
16 - empty bedpan contents into toilet
- turn on sink with paper towel
- rinse bedpan + empty water into toilet
- flush toilet
- dry bedpan with paper towel
- use paper towel to open drawer + store bedpan
17 - PERINEAL CARE - wipe front to back using wipe OR soap/water + towel
18 - dry perineal area
19 - remove gloves + wash hands + add gloves
19 - fix clothing + add comforter + remove privacy blanket
