Act 1, Scene 2

4. Seeing that Rosaline is on the guest list, Romeo and Benvolio decide to go too.

Act 1, Scene 3

1. Lady Capulet informs Juliet of Paris' marriage proposal and praises him strongly.
2. Juliet has not even thought of marriage, but she will consider Paris' proposal if her parents wish it.

Act 1, Scene 4

1. Romeo and Benvolio plan to attend the Capulet's costume party along with their friend Mercutio.
2. Mercutio mocks Romeo with a speech about a dream-giving faery.

Act 1, Scene 5

1. Capulet welcomes Romeo and his friends to the party
2. Romeo sees Juliet and is captivated by her beauty.
3. The two meet and fall in love.
