divides power over territory between national, state and regional governments. All levels have the power to make laws, elect officails and create agencies. Example is the US and India
confederal (confederate) system
independent states join together by forming a central government called confederation and delagate limited powers to a central government to pursue areas of common interest. The Central gov oly has powers that were given by the state. Example is the US under the articles and the European Union
Many of the worlds democracies are modeled off of Great Britians Parlamentary system where the executive and legislative branches are combined and in place of a popularly elected president there is a prime minister which is chosen by the elected parliment. It is easier to pass laws, but the disatvantage is the prime minister is not chosen by the people directly.
many govs are modeled off the Us predidental system. it is distinguished by having a president that is elected by the people for a limited term in office where the president is in charge of the duties of the executive branch but decisions are balanced out by a legislative branch.

by force, usually violently by overthrowing a government rule by fear of the people

direct democracy is more common in smaller countries and communities rather than large areas

They both elect leaders and vote on their laws but republics are indirect more as democracies are direct

Advise elected officials, control public finances, review/ propose laws, deal with foerign relations.

Divides power iver territory between national and reginal levels of government. These are called the overarching government and the 50 state government.

local levels of government may be active in rule but the national government has ultimate authority.

It is a multi-Party democracy, has the worlds foutheenth largest economy, produces cars and many other goods. is a very civilized technological country and one of the most digitally connected countries in the world, complete with cellular devices, wireless laptops online gaming and other electronics.
What type of government is North Korea and what is life like there?
It is a totaltariasm communist country, led by dictator Kim Jong Um. He holds full control over the country and shuts his people out from the world by banning all electronics. North Koreans are unaware of what is truly going on because they see Kim as a god. They have the worlds fifth largest army and nuclear power. Words of torture, prision camps, and starvation have spread around the world.
