TCP/IP model
The TCP/IP model consists of four separate layers, each defining certain protocols and actions that allow successful communications between two systems over a network
Media Access Control (MAC)address
A MAC address is a unique, physical address on the network port in your workstation.
Application layer
In the TCP/IP model the application layer also called the Process-to-Process layer, corresponds to the Session, Presentation, and Application layers of the OSI model.
Transport layer
In the TCP/IP model the Transport layer, also called the Host-to-Host layer, is comparable to the Transport layer of the OSI model. It is responsible for error checking and reliable packet delivery. The Transport layer breaks the data stream into segments and assigns sequence numbers so that the segments can be reassembled correctly at the destination.
Internet layer
In the TCP/IP model the Internet layer is comparable to the Network layer of the OSI model. It is responsible for moving packets through a network. This involves addressing and making routing decisions to identify how the packet traverses the network.
Link layer
The Link layer corresponds to the functions of the Physical and Data Link layers of the OSI model. It is responsible for describing the physical layout of the network and how messages are formatted on the transmission medium. Sometimes this layer is divided into the Data Link and the Physical layers.

“Assassin” is a real-life game in which a group of players all try individually to find and touch (or “kill”) one other player. You can use a linked list to represent this “kill ring” of players in the game: If a “kill” is made, the ring adjusts by removing that person from the list. For example, the following occurs if Sally kills Jim: Write a program that models a game of Assassin. The game reads the names of the initial kill ring from a file and puts them into a linked list in random order. Then the game repeatedly prompts for the name of a person that has been killed. The game continues until only one player remains and is declared the winner. The program should also have methods for printing the current contents of the kill ring and printing a “graveyard” of all players who have been killed.
engineering
Use Green’s theorem to evaluate $\oint_{C} \mathbf{F} \cdot d R.$ All closed curves are oriented positively. $\mathbf{F}=8 x y^{2} \mathbf{j} ,$ and C is the circle of radius 4 about the origin.

The flow of water around the bridge pier is to be studied using a model built to a scale of $1 / 15$. If the river flows at $0.8 \mathrm{~m} / \mathrm{s}$, find the corresponding velocity of the water in the model at the same temperature.
physics
A 200-kg communications satellite is placed into a circular orbit around Earth with a radius of $4.23 \times 10^7 \mathrm{~m}$ (26,300 miles) (a) Find the gravitational force on the satellite. (There is some useful information in Section 2.7.) (b) Use the equation for centripetal force to compute the speed of the satellite. (c) Show that the period of the satellite-the time it takes to complete one orbit-is 1 day. (The distance it travels during one orbit is $2 \pi$, or $6.28$, times the radius.) This is a geasynchronous orbit: the satellite stays above a fixed point on Earth's equator.
