Has a beard, a multicolored dress, a beaver hat and buckled boots. Expert with exchanges and administration, helps others with money but no one knows he is in debt.
A student who gladly learns and teaches. Gets money from his friends and spends it all on learning and books. Has plain clothes- bear overcoat. Very interested in Aristotle.
Sergeant at the Law
Wise with noted excellence. Knows of every case and crime. Had to serve 16 years to get his title, has a lot of money and fame. Seems discreet. Wore a multi-colored coat. Transferred land to his own-pocketed money.
White beard and ruddy complexion- 'Santa Claus'. Sanguine man, high colored and benign. Lived for pleasure. Good with bread and wine. Has been a sheriff. Very educated- model among landed gentry. 'Jay Gatsby.'
All wanted to be at the top of their trade. Worked for their conceited wives. Haberdasher, dyer, weaver, carpenter, carpet maker.
Cooks very good food, could distinguish London ale by flavor. Had an ulcer on his knee.
From Dartmouth. Tanned with a woolen gown and ragged beard. Ignored his conscience. Owned a barge and made prisoners walk the plank. Steals wine.
Very knowledgeable, a perfect practicing physician. Loved gold because it stimulates the heart. Wrote fake prescriptions and pocketed the money. Knew astronomy and horoscopes. Wore red, blue, and gray clothes.
Wife of Bath
A woman who made cloth and knew a lot about love. Has five husbands. Partly deaf. Cares a lot about appearance. Had gapped teeth and a bold, handsome, red face. Dressed for attention-large hat and red hose.
A well known, holy minded man. Diligent and patient. Poor but rich in holy thought and work. Led by example. Didn't hire others to do his duties and not judgemental of sinfuls.
A farmer who has wealth. A religious and honest worker. Would help the poor for the love of Christ and never take a penny. Rode a mare and wore a short jacket.
Very stout and strong. Has a red beard and a wart on his nose with a tuft of hair. Wide, black nostrils and a mouth like a furnace. Leads the line. Grinds and steals grain. Had a hood of blue and a white coat. Tells tavern stories and dirty jokes. Bagpipe player.
Watched the market and was good at keeping up with it. Purchased goods for those studying law. They gave him money and he pocketed the change. Illiterate but has more common sense than the lawyers he worked for.
Old, choleric, and thin. Carpenter of first rate skill. Estate manager. Embezzles money from his lord. Had a stallion named Scot. Carries a rusty blade and a blue overcoat.
Has a rosy face and narrow eyes. Physically flawed- boils and sores, scabby brows and a thin beard. Children were scared of him. Blackmails people. Loves garlic, onion, links, and red wine.Calls people to church court. Gets drunk a lot- speaks in Latin. Cake shield.
Has long yellow hair like rat-tails. Large bulging eyes and a voice small like a goat.. The best pardoner there was. Bare chin. Stole pardons and relics to sell.
Innkeeper at the Tabard inn. Plump and wise with bright eyes. No manly attribute he lacked. Merry and humorous.
