A hand building technique, where clay is rolled into a ball, then you insert your thumb in the center of the clay, and press or pinch to form the walls or sides of the clay
This is done to create a bowl or pot

A hand building technique, where a mass of clay is flattened to a slab using a rolling pin, its thickness determined by the size of the article to be produced
