Nursing diagnosis related to administration of drugs:

describes the maximum level of wellness that is reasonably attainable for a patient
refers to the preparation & administration of one or more drugs to a specific patient. Ex. Giving or withholding drugs & contacting the health care provider
Effective Self Health Management
The patient is willing to participate & integrate into daily living the treatment of an illness such as self administrating drugs. The pt verbalizes the desire to manage the medication schedule. They may need a teaching care plan & will need information concerning the drug.
Ineffective Self Health Management
a pattern of difficulty integrating into daily living a program for treatment of illness & the sequelae of illness. The pt may not be taking the med correctly or following schedule. This could be due to inadequate funds, adverse reactions, dissatisfaction with not seeing any progress, etc.
the absence or deficiency of cognitive information on administering a drug regimen correctly. May be related to a lack of interest in learning, cognitive limitation or inability to remember
Noncompliance (issue of adherence)
the behavior of a pt or caregiver that fails to coincide with the therapeutic plan agreed on by the pt & the prescribing health care provider. Can be noncompliant due to lack of info about drug, reason the drug is prescribed, or the expected or therapeutic results. Some find adverse effects too bothersome to continue. Can also be a result of anxiety
involves the grouping of assessment data into like threads.
