Chapter 11 Vocabulary
Instantaneous Speed
The rate at which an object moves at that point in time
The ratio of the distance of an object moves to the amount of time it takes it to move
Average Speed
The total distance traveled divided by the time it takes to travel that distance
The speed and direction an object is moving measured relative to a reference point
Frame of Reference
A system of objects that are not moving with respect to one another
Relative Motion
Movement in a relation to a frame of reference
A straight line from starting point to ending point
Resultant Vector
The sum of two or more vectors
