Da cheng qi tang
Severe constipation & flatulence, focal distention & abd fullness, abd pain which increases upon pressure & a tense firm abd. Severe cases may have tidal fevers, thirst, scanty urine, sweating in the palms and soles. T: dry yellow or dry black coat with prickles. P: submerged & excessive
Xiao cheng qi tang
Relativesly mild yang ming bowel disorder with tidal fever, constipation, focal distention, abd fullness abd pain that does not increase upon pressure. T: old looking, dirty & dry yellow coat. P: slippery & rapid
Tiao wei cheng qi tang
For mild constipation due to yang ming bowel disorder with the absence of abd distension and fullness but with irritability. Also for nosebleed, swollen gums & throat, and petechiae due to heat in the st & intestines
Da huang fu zi tang
