GESTURE
Gesturing anything using movement
LOCOMOTION
Travelling from one space to another using the different levels.
ELEVATION
Moving from one level higher. Usually consists of leaving the ground.
FALLING
Moving the body part from one level to a lower level.
TURNING
The act of turning or rotating the whole body or a joint.
STILLNESS
The absence of evident movement.
ALIGNMENT
Physical skill used to make your body is aligned.
BALANCE
The ability to maintain balance.
CO ORDINATION
Patterning of different body parts and different relationships.
STRENGTH
Showing your strengths by doing something challenging.
CONTROL
From holding a position in stillness to slowly moving through to another position.
FLEXIBILITY
Can be shown in various ways; the stretching of your muscles, ligaments and/or joints.
STAMINA
Repeat a demanding activity/performance of a sequence of tricks.
TRANSFERENCE OF WEIGHT
To move from one special pattern to another.
TIME
The use of qualities such as rhythm, duration, speed, tempo & accent.
SPACE
The use of qualities such s shape, special organisation, level, direction and focus.
ENERGY
The qualities of movement such as swinging, sustained, suspended etc. to create dynamic vibrations of force and flow.
FORM
The structure of the dance, refining and arranging of the phrases and sections of the dance.
EXPRESSIVE INTENTION
Central concern that guides the formulation of the dance.
REFINEMENT
The process of editing the dance's initial form and movement vocabulary in order to make a clearer intention.
EVALUATION
The written reflections on the process of rehearsing and performing.
