Happens during birth when a baby's spine does not form normally as other babies would. Usually the spinal cord and the surrounding nerves that branch out of it could or may be damaged.
Although the cause isn't confirmed, research has shown that it's caused from changes in the brain associated with problems of how the nerve cells communicate. This is a disturbance in the balance of neurotransmitters and chemicals that carry nerve signals from cell to cell.
Downs Syndrome, also known as Trisomy 21. Downs syndrome occurs during birth where extra genetic material causes delays in how the child develops, both mentally and physically.
Muscular Dystrophy. MD is a disorder that happens during birth that overtime the body's muscles start to weaken and lose all function. It's caused by incorrect or missing genetic information which prevents the body from making certain proteins needed to build and maintain muscle function.
Central Auditory Processing Disorder. Students with this condition are not able to process what they hear because their ears and brain don't fully coordinate together. What happens is that something interferes with the way the brain recognizes and interprets specific sounds including speech.
