When you join a sentence and a subordinate clause ( fragment) together. The subordinate clause ( fragment ) provides additional information .
What is a complex sentence ?
Introduces as subordinate clause (fragment) . Used to connect fragments and sentences together to form a complex sentence

after, before, once , since, until, when , whenever, while
