How does the Sources tool fit into the Inbound Methodology?

Why is the Sources tool considered the "hub" of HubSpot?
It is where everything comes together; blog posts, landing pages, emails, Sources tool tracks all your efforts in one place and analyze to see how your spending your time to find ways to be more efficient
How do you create a custom Sources Report?
1. In your navigation, select Reports then select Reports Home.
2. Click the blue button on the right-hand side to create a new report. Choose Sources and click Create report.
3. Toggle building reports off visits, contacts or customers created. Select soures to report on. The default selects all sources, but you can remove this and select specific sources you with to report on. Select time period to report on. Filter by domains if you're looking to view just a specific domain hosted in HubSpot. Choose graph type; standard or cumulative.
4. Once satisfied with the data you wish to report on, change the name of the report if you wish to easily find it, then click Create report. Once created you'll view this data as a sources report with the name of that report in the Reports pick list in Sources.
What are the different sources that are shown in the tool?
Organic Search (visits from search engines), Referrals (visits from other websites), Social Media (visits from social media sites), Email marketing (visits from email campaigns), Paid Search (visits from pay-per-click ads), Direct Traffic (visits from when a user reaches your site directly by typing in a URL), Other Campaigns (an additional source that can be used for custom reporting, when you implement tracking URLs)
What are the best practices to use for the Sources tool?
Check often (at least once a week), calculate marketing impact, establish a benchmark
What is a visits-to-contacts rate?
Number of new contacts divided by the number of visits for the selected time period
What is Contacts-to-customer rate?
Number of customers divided by contacts for the selected time period
What's the difference between "Standard View" and "Cumulative View?"
When toggling to the cumulative graph, the data appears as a cumulative total for each source, based on visits, contacts or customers rather than broken down by day/week/month (dependent on selected time range). Standard view will display how each channel is performing on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Cumulative view will display the progression of each channel over a period of time.
How do you email a report?
Underneath the "edit report" button on the right in the reports screen, click email report.
How often should you be checking the Sources tool?
Weekly
Who can you send this report to?
This can be emailed to yourself or to any of your colleagues. The emailed report does not need to be sent to an existing user in HubSpot; this can be sent to the email address(es) of your choosing.
What are the different ways you can access the Sources data?
Click on Reports > Sources

From the dashboard, choose sources from the list on the far right
What is a default report?
the report that appears whenever you navigate to Reports >Sources. This is sent on a per user, per portal basis. If you are a user in multiple portals, this default report is only set for the portal you elected to make the default report.
