2. The Prince Charming Regal Carousel was first installed in Detroit, Mich., in 1917, then moved to Maplewood, N.J., before finding a permanent home in the Magic Kingdom.

3. If you hang out in the library for a few minutes after the Enchanted Tales with Belle show ends, the crew will explain some of their technical tricks, like bringing the character of Lumiere to life.

4. Fantasyland's concert hall assigns music performances based on puns; i.e. Genie sings the blues because he's blue and Ariel has a choral group as a play on coral under the sea.

5. Guests often throw coins into the water along the walkway of the It's A Small World attraction. Disney donates that money to Give Kids the World, an organization that makes wishes come true for children with life-threatening illnesses.

6. Abraham Lincoln was Walt Disney's favorite president. To accurately represent him in the Hall of Presidents, the park made Lincoln's face from a copy of a life mask created by the sculptor Leonard Volk in 1860.

7. The Pirates of the Caribbean ride almost wasn't built because Disney thought guests wouldn't be interested in a fantasy recreation of a place that was a short cruise away from where they already were in Florida.

8. The image of Jasmine's tiger Rajah is hidden in the front and back sections of the flying carpet in the Magic Carpets of Aladdin attraction.

9. In The Seas with Nemo & Friends pavilion, Nigel, the pelican hero from Finding Nemo, is the only main character not depicted.

10. Disney developed a signature scent for Norway in Epcot. It's called Laila and smells like airy mountains. The perfume is sprayed throughout the day in the pavilion.

11. Sometimes in the red phone booth across from the Hotel du Canada in Epcot, the phone rings and it's a Disney character calling that you can have a conversation with.

12. The Rock 'n' Roller Coaster was supposed to feature music by the Rolling Stones, but the band proved too expensive for Disney's tastes. Instead, the park paid Aerosmith to use their music on the roller coaster.

13. In The Voyage of the Little Mermaid ride, Disney adds helium to the bubble makers to create bubbles that float up instead of down.

14. Some Spoonbills in the Oasis section of Animal Kingdom are given fake eggs to sit on. This helps prevent over population because it tricks the birds into thinking they've fulfilled their reproductive obligation.

15. Even though they're talked about in Animal Kingdom, there are no actual hyenas in the park. They're considered too violent
24. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride was an original park favorite. After it closed a tombstone was placed in the pet cemetary of the Haunted Mansion for J.Thaddeus Toad.
25. The Lake used for Fantasmic is only about 1 foot deep
26. U2 was first approached to be the starring Rock Band for Hollywood Studios Rockin Roller Coaster. When they decline, the ride was based on the band Aerosmith.
27. In addition, Rocking Roller Coaster was the first inverter coaster in Disney and the first coaster ever to have a synchronized soundtrack.
28. Animal Kingdom's Expedition Everest and Hollywood Studios Tower of Terror stand 199 feet tall. This is because any structure 200 feet tall would require red flashing lights according to Aviation rules.
29. Epcot's Mission Space Attraction needs more computer power than NASA's real space shuttle.
30. The hydrolic thruster and cylinder used to bring the Yeti to life atop Expedition Everest uses more power than a 747 jet engine.
31. At 5.7 million gallons, Epcot's Aquarium of the Seas is the second largest aquarium in the U.S.
32. The fastest ride at Disney World is Test Track which reaches speeds of 65 mph.
33. Mr. Potato Head found in Hollywood Studios Toy Story Mania is the most advanced audio animatronic character to date.
34. Technology used to make ghosts dance in the Haunted Mansion was also used to make "Finding Nemo" characters swim under water with the real fish found at Epcot's The Seas.
35. Walt Disney died of lung cancer in 1966. His last words were "Kurt Russell" who at the time had just been signed to a 10 year contract for Disney Movies.
36. Disney's first Audio Animatronics were first introduced to the world at the 1966 World's Fair in Flushing NY. "It's A Small World" and "Great Moments with Abraham Lincoln" which later evolved into today's Hall of Presidents.
37. Mickey Mouse was the first cartoon character to receive a plaque on Hollywoods legendary walk of fame.
1. No gum is sold in Disney parks. If you're a chewer, better bring your own along.
2. It's NOT a Small World After All - Disney World encompasses over 50 square miles.
3. Hidden Mickey's can be found everywhere. A hidden Mickey is the 3 circle silhouette of the head and ears of Mickey Mouse disguised and subtly hidden in decor, rock formations, table settings and designs of all sorts. Thousands of hidden Mickey's have been recorded and more included with each park update.
4. Disney World has only closed three times since it first opened in 1971. Hurricane Floyd closed the park in 1999. The terrorist attacks of 9/11 in 2001 closed the park as well as a 2002 power failure. When the park closed on 9/11, it took less than 30 minutes to evacuate and close the parks.
5. Guests in Walt Disney World are never more than 30 steps away from a trash can.
6. Visit The hat shop on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom and you'll see an old pay phone on the wall. Pick up the receiver and you and eavesdrop on an interesting conversation.
7. There are no bathrooms located in the Magic Kingdom's Liberty Square, in keeping with the time period of that area.
8. In the Magic Kingdom Train Station, look closely for articles left by other "guests," including Mary Poppins and other characters from Disney films.
9 An imagineer named George was killed during the building of Pirates of the Caribbean. It is said his ghost haunts the ride to this day. Workers say "goodnight George" before they shut down the ride each night as a superstition to prevent attraction break downs the next day.
10. Epcot's American Pavilion is home to an American flag taken from the rubble of 9/11/2001
11. Underneath Disney World are miles of underground tunnels called utilidors that house the massive costume departments, cast member break rooms, garbage chutes and more.
12. The 48 square miles of Florida swampland now home to Walt Disney World was originally purchased by Walt for $5 million dollars.
13. Disney World averaged 10,000 visitors per day when it first opened in 1971. Today that number has swelled closed to 50,000 visitors per day.
14. Mickey is more of a fashionista than Minnie. He has over 290 different outfits in his closet compared to her 200.
15. The new Avatar section of Animal Kingdom is expected to open in 2015 at a cost of more than $400 million dollars.
16. Epcot gardens grow over 30 tons of fruits and veg each year to help feed hungry park visitors.
17. Disney Hollywood Studios was originally built as a working studio, not a theme park. The Mickey Mouse Club was filmed there with Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Ryan Gosling and Christina Aquilera.
18. Adult admission to Disney World when it opened was $3.50
19. Disney Transportation System is the third largest bus system in Florida with over 290 buses.
20. Disney has grown over 500 oak trees from acorns of the Liberty Oak found in Liberty Square.
21. Over 200 pairs of sunglasses are turned into lost & found each day at Disney World
22. The Disney Company bought 12,000 acres of Florida Wetlands located about 15 miles south of the park back in the 90's. the idea was to maintain the balance of nature and offset the environmental impact of the parks.
23. More than 1.6 million turkey legs are consumed at the parks every year. They are such a fan favorite that you can buy turkey leg hats, t-shirts and other souvenirs.

39. One of the most popular Disney souvenirs of all time was the Mickey Mouse watch. It was first introduced in 1933 and sold for $2.95. Walt Disney himself was presented with the 25th million watch in 1957
40. Need to cool off at Hollywood Studios? Look for the "Singing in the Rain" umbrella in the Streets of America. Stand on the pad and instant rain.
41. Talk about a photo op -it is estimated that 4% of all amateur photographs in the U.S. were taken inside a Disney Park.
42. More than 50 million cokes are consumed each year at Disney Parks. You won't find a Pepsi.
43. Walt Disney World employs close to 60,000 cast members making it one of the largest employer in the U.S.
44. Disney's Wedding Pavillion near the Grand Floridian Resort is designed to give the Bride and Groom a great view of Cinderella Castle while saying their vows.
45. Every year over 3 million flowering plants are planted at Walt Disney World while the horticulture staff maintains over 2 million shrubs, 13,000 roses and over 200 topiaries.
46. Over 10 million hamburgers, 7 million hot dogs and 9 million pounds of french fries are consumed by hungry Disney World guests every year.
47. Walt Disney World Costume Department is home to over 1.2 million pieces of clothing making it the largest wardrobe department in the world. Each Cast Member has 3 costumes.
48. It takes over 150 tractor trailor loads of decorations to Deck the Halls for holiday celebrations. Wonder what Disney's electric bill is for all of this?'s zero, they have their own power plant.
49 Disney World Resorts Offer Guests over 27,000 hotel rooms and are constantly adding to that number.
50. Since 1971, the Walt Disney World monorail trains have logged enough miles to make 30 round trips to the moon.
38. You never have to pay for water in Disney World. Just go to any quick service restaurant in the park and ask for a cup.
Walt designed the parks so when you pass from land to land, you don't see the others. If you where in Liberty Square, you can't see Fantasyland because of trees, buildings, and distractions like the water wheel. The noise keeps you from looking to your left and seeing the other lands (even the pavement changes to match the new [mood] land).
Small pipes shoot the trash through the utilidors under the Magic Kingdom at 60 mph.
If there are 2 lines and you can't see the loading area from where you are, take the line to the left.
In the MK, you will rarely see a Frontierland CM walking around in Tomorrowland. Most CMs arrive to work in their own clothes and then check in at costuming to pick up their costume. When going on breaks etc., they use the tunnel system under the MK (ground level, as most of you know) to travel between lands, as not to ruin the effect of each land.
Ever notice there isn't a lot of gum stuck on rides, trees, waiting areas in WDW? That's because they don't sell it on property, just for this reason.
There are more than 20,000 different colors of paint used in Walt Disney World.
If you were to wash and dry one load of laundry every day for the next 44 years, you'd clean about as much as the Cast Members at the Walt Disney World Laundry do in a single DAY!
On the Partners Statue in front of the castle at the Magic Kingdom - Walt is wearing an Irish Claddagh ring on his right ring finger. He and his wife, Lillian, bought them for each other on a trip to Ireland and wore them every day.
The walkway in MK is red because Walt wanted to lay out the "red carpet" for all guests. This also helps the characters. They watch the color of the cement behind the scenes. When it changes color, they know that they have to be in character before they enter the onstage area. The same goes with leaving. As long as they are on that color, they must be in character even if it is behind the gates, just in case the gates are not closed and a child or anyone can look and see them. So, they are not allowed to take the costume off or be out of character. They don't want anyone to see Mickey without his head.
On the Keys to the Kingdom tour they mention that in WDW no trash can will ever be more than 30 steps away from you. It seems that Walt went to other parks when he was designing the park and counted how long a person would hold onto a piece of trash before dropping it on the ground. He came up with 30 steps.
Each day at 5:00 pm a Flag Retreat ceremony takes place, including a live marching band, the Dapper Dans and an honorary veteran of the day. The veteran is included in the ceremony, presented the flag and given an official certificate and pin.

The honarary veteran used to be selected first come first serve but is now selected randomly.

Some hints: The selection usually takes place at opening near the park entrance. If the cast member making the selection doesn't know you're a veteran, they can't pick you. And finally, it never hurts to ask, especially on behalf of an especially deserving veteran.

Random Magic

The windows above Main Street display names of men and women important to the development of Walt Disney World and the Disney family. For example one window lists "Elias Disney, Contractor" a reference to Walt's dad, who built houses.

Off the first side street, listen closely under the windows advertising music lessons.

Main Street has a real working barber shop - great spot for baby's first haircut.

If you see an old-timely, decorative phone on the wall in a store, it never hurts to pick it up and listen.

The water on the Jungle Cruise is dyed in order to make it appear much deeper than it actually is.
Vacation Planning Tip

If you're flying to Disney World, take a good look at renting a car. The bus system in Disney World gets the job done, but is often the source of a lot of complaints. The waits can be long - especially at the end of the day - and many children simply run out of patience when standing in line for a half an hour just to get on a bus.

A lot of companies service Orlando, so it pays to comparison shop. We use this site because they organize the prices different companies charge for different models in a grid making it easy to compare rates.

Remember - if you are staying at a Disney resort, parking is free at the theme parks.
Tony's - Town Square

Goofy is sitting on a bench in front of Tony's. If you sit next to him, and listen closely, you might hear him talking to you.

There are paw prints outlined by a heart in the pavement outside Tony's, based on the restaurant from Lady and the Tramp.

Once inside, you can ask for an 'autograph' from both Lady and the Tramp.

If you can get one, a table near a window or on the patio is a memorable way to watch the parade circle the Town Square in front of Tony's.
Liberty Square

There are 13 lanterns - one for each original colony - hanging from the Liberty Tree, the giant Southern Live Oak in Liberty Square. In the Disney movie Johnny Tremain, colonists hang lanterns from the Liberty Tree in celebration of the Boston Tea Party.

In one of the upper windows in Liberty Square you'll find 2 lanterns, warning you that the British are coming - and by sea.

Also in the windows of Liberty Square, look for a Minute Man's rifle as well as a doll - used by colonists to let firefighters know a child lived there.

The addresses on the doors of the buildings in Liberty Square mark the year that architecture was popular. A "24" on the door means you'd find that style being built in 1724.

Columbia Harbor restaurant has two entrances. From the one in Fantasyland, the decor is British. From the one in Liberty Square, the decor is early American. The restaurant symbolizes crossing the Atlantic from Europe to America, from a land of castles and fairy tales to new, thriving colonies.PUSH: The Talking Trash Can

Currently discontinued! Tweet #savePUSH to show your support to bring this magic back!

An otherwise ordinary looking trash can lives in Tomorrowland. He talks, he moves, he surprises unsuspecting guests and he makes them laugh with his antics. Push can hear you, will respond to you and can even still function as a trash can. He's most often found outside Cosmic Ray's and Auntie Gravity's.
Spoiler - Click to learn how Push works.

Retired Magic

Some magic just doesn't last. The items below were once well loved Magic Kingdom secrets, but have since been retired. The legend lives on though, as many people still pass them on and seek them out.

Waking Tinker Bell

Once upon a time, Tinker Bell used to sleep in a small dresser within a store in Fantasyland. The first child of the day that tapped on the dresser would "wake" her. Small lights would flash and fly around the room and the child would be presented with an official certificate. Tinker Bell could be then summoned the rest of the day by pressing a button, bringing on a similar light display.

The store that housed Tink's dresser was revamped a few years ago and is now Castle Couture. Tink had to find a new place to crash.
Paintbrushes on Tom Sawyer Island

Castmembers used to hide paintbrushes, the kind used for whitewashing a fence, in various places on Tom Sawyer Island. Upon returning it to the raft driver, the guest would get a free fastpass for one of the nearby mountains. They no longer do this, likely due to a few guests simply valuing the paintbrush more then a fastpass. Oh well.

Tom Sawyer Island is practically hidden magic itself, though. Exploring it yields caves, hidden playgrounds and a fort with 'working' guns.

TIP: Near the playground is a picnic table, perhaps the only place in Magic Kingdom you can comfortably enjoy a lunch you've packed for the park.
Cinderella and Her Castle

Behind the castle sits a fountain with a statue of Cinderella. When a guest bows down to take a drink from the water fountain facing the statue they will see a crown from the backdrop sitting perfectly on Cinderella's head.

Guests that stick around Magic Kingdom past closing time will be treated to the touching Kiss Goodnight Show on Cinderella Castle. This unadvertised, little-known show takes place roughly 30 minutes after the rides close. It features the original dedication speech given by Roy Disney at the grand opening of Magic Kingdom.

Ultra wide angle photo of Cinderella Castle shot with the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 lens. Lens review:

Within Cinderella Castle is a lavish royal suite, built in the space originally intended for Walt and his family. It can't be booked or even toured. It is currently only available for VIPs, special guests and occasional contest winners.

Cinderella Castle stands at 189ft. One more foot and Disney would be required to place a blinking red light atop the castle due to aviation regulations.

The intricate mosaic inside Cinderella Castle is made up of over 300,000 pieces of glass. The wicked step sisters have tiles for their eyes that are 'green' with envy and 'red' with anger.

Real gold was used on the castle's spires and on part of the mural inside.

The Sword in the Stone

Behind Cinderella Castle, just in front of the Golden Carousel, sits the Sword in the Stone. Most guests walk right by it.

But a few do notice and stop to give it a pull. Many fail and walk away. But every now and then one of the least likely among us becomes... rightwise ruler born of England.

Main Street Flags

Main Street USA is a little slice of Americana. Above this idyllic small town setting you'll find about a dozen American flags. One thing though, none of them have 50 stars!

Is this Disney just trying to be historically accurate? Nope. The real reason is that flags with less then 50 stars don't count as real flags. Thus, they do not have to be taken down in poor weather or illuminated at night. A sharp eye will find these type of flags throughout WDW.

If fake flags offends your patriotic senses, take comfort in knowing a large flag, full of 50 stars waves over Town Square, right in the front of the park.

Haunted Mansion

If the wait for Haunted mansion is 13 minutes - there is no wait.

The different music heard throughout the ride is actually the same song, "Grim Grinning Ghosts", set to different tempos, instruments, vocals, etc.

The Stretching Room is the first thing guests see as they enter. There are actually two of these rooms. One fills while the other entertains and vice versa, in order to keep guests consistently flowing to the Doom Buggies.

The 'stretching' effect is created by raising the ceiling - at least in Disney World. In Disneyland the floor is lowered in order to get guests past the railroad that runs next door.

In the attic scene, there are 5 wedding portraits with the same bride but different grooms. She is wearing an additional string of pearls in each successive portrait, marking the order in which she's murdered married them.

Once you've seen all 5 of the dispatched husbands, the demonic bride turns to you, revealing a hatchet. Suddenly you meet your end as your Doom Buggy falls into a graveyard. From that point on, human characters look at you with scared expressions, and "other" ghosts are now fully visible to you. You've joined the deceased.

More Random Magic

Part of the original model for EPCOT can be seen in one of the tunnels of the PeopleMover in Tomorrowland.

There is a picture of Walt Disney in the daughter's room on the 40's stop of the Carousel of Progress.

In Owl's house on the Winnie the Pooh ride, there is a picture of Mr.Toad handing over a deed to Owl. The ride is on the site of the former and notorious, Mr.Toad's Wild Ride.

As you approach the main drop on Splash Mountain, a gopher pops out and shouts "F S U"! It was placed there by an Imagineer that just happened to be a Florida State alumni.

Utilidors System

Did you know when you are in Magic Kingdom, you are really standing on the second or third floor of a massive utility structure?

When designing Disney World, Walt wanted a way to hide off duty workers and necessities like trash collection from the guests. Tunnels were suggested, but the high water table made it impractical. The solution was a huge, 3-story concrete and steel structure. The first floor houses walkways, utilities, kitchens, break rooms, storage and trash collection.

Guests arriving outside the park walk up a slight incline that takes them to the second floor of the superstructure which extends over parts of Main Street, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. When you're in front of Cinderella Castle, you're actually on the 3rd floor of a gigantic building!

DSC_0335 smaller

Ever notice that to board Small World, you have to walk down ramps to the water? The ride is on the first floor, while the entrance is on the second.

Don't bother recycling. Trash is collected via a network of pneumatic tubes that sucks garbage out of trash cans from below and speeds it off through the Utilidors to a centralized location where recyclable materials are sorted out, magically taking away the guilt of throwing a plastic bottle into a regular trashcan.

Guests can tour the Utildors. They are part of Disney World's "Backstage Magic Tour" and the "Keys to the Kingdom Tour". No Children under 16 are allowed though, the site of a beloved cartoon character walking around with a human head may be too much for their fragile little minds.

Smith's Leg

Says Bert: I know a man with a wooden leg named Smith.
Replies Uncle Albert: What's the name of his other leg?
- Marry Poppins

And from that the Imagineers made a wooden leg, with the name Smith scrawled across it, and placed it in the 'lost and found' section of the Frontierland Railroad Station. It hasn't been there for years, but is still widely mentioned as hidden magic.

Magic Kingdom is the most visited and most loved of all the Disney World Parks. Its also full of the most detail and hidden magic. An incredible amount of creativity and thinking has gone into nearly every detail of the park, making an observant and watchful eye easily rewarded. This is by no means the complete list. Feel free to send us anything you've found on your own vacations.
Epcot Secrets
Epcot is a well thought out park, full of overlooked details and attractions that most guests will never experience. Here are just a few of the hidden magic, off-the-beaten-path attractions and secrets you'll find in Epcot.

Tower of Morocco

If you've looked out across the water at the World Showcase, you've probably looked right at the Tower of Terror and never even noticed it!

When they were building Hollywood Studios, the imagineers knew the Tower of Terror would be visible from Epcot, there was no way around it. So they designed the tower to blend into the color and style of the Morocco Pavilion.

Rear Entrance

From the above secret you can tell that Hollywood Studios and Epcot are kind of close to each other. In fact, you can walk to Hollywood Studios from Epcot if you go out the rear entrance.

The rear entrance is located between France and United Kingdom. From there beautiful walkways take you to the Beach Club, Boardwalk and Swan and Dolphin resorts and then onto Hollywood Studios.

If the walk is too long, there's also a boat that will take you to Hollywood Studios and the resorts. Free of charge, of course.

The Boardwalk and Yacht Club have shopping, restaurants and beautiful views that can be a nice break from a crowded park.

Talking Trashcans and Water Fountains

Do something simple like throw your trash away or take a drink of water in Epcot and you may be met with a sarcastic quip or silly response.

The talking trashcan is inside the Electric Umbrella restaurant. Look for the one that is plugged in. Did you notice that in the photo above?

There are a few different drinking fountains in Epcot that will talk to you if you stop for a drink. We were going to list their exact locations, but c'mon do we have to give everything away? Well, fine here's a hint, they're all in Future World. Happy hunting.

Overlooked Attractions

Here are several, off-the-beaten-path attractions that don't get nearly the attention they should...

Club Cool

How about instead of another ride or show, you just get to try different flavors of pop from around the world. Ok, how about its free too ? You won't find Club Cool on the official park map of Epcot. Its tucked into the back of Innovation West, behind the Starbucks. Look for the people with amused, yet refreshed, smiles on their faces.

Sum of All Thrills

If you need a break from drinking free pop, head into the Innovations West building and check out Sum of All Thrills...

Here you will use futuristic technology, as well as a little math and science, to design your own thrill ride. This in and of itself is fun, but what makes this a truly overlooked attraction is the robotic arm that turns and twists you in the air as you experience your creation through a 3-D, virtual reality simulator.

Cool huh?

Random Secrets

When World Showcase was built, space was left for 10 additional countries. Since then, Norway and Morroco have been added, leaving room for 8 more.

On Soarin' you'll board flight number 5505. Soarin' debuted in Epcot on May 5, 2005. Most numbers in Disney World have some sort of hidden meaning.

A sharp eye will notice the address "#82″ on the mailbox outside the farmhouse on the Living With The Land boat ride. Epcot opened in 1982.

The Seas with Nemo & Friends is one of the largest saltwater Aquariums in the world. It would be a major stand alone attraction in any major U.S. city. In fact, the aquarium is so large, the water could more then fill Spaceship Earth (the giant golf ball, for those not familiar with it). For an extra fee, guests can even scuba dive in the massive aquarium.

Forcing Perspective

Forced perspective, making buildings and settings appear larger or smaller than they actually are, is used throughout Disney World. Epcot is no exception.

The main building of the American Pavilion appears to just be 2-3 stories, typical for the Colonial era. However, a closer look shows the building is at least 5 stories tall.

Notice the huge windows and doors as well as all the space between floors. This allows the building to be easily viewed from across the pond while still holding true to the way the building would have looked 200+ years ago.

The opposite effect is at work in the Canadian Pavilion. There windows start out small and get even smaller as they go up. The effect makes the landmark building appear much taller than it actually is.

Over in France, Disney has to use several different methods to keep birds off the Eiffel Tower. A bird perched atop would ruin the forced perspective, and expose just how small the Eiffel Tower actually is.

While it was built using the original blueprints from the real Eiffel Tower, Disney had to make its version significantly smaller than the real one.

World Showcase

The France Pavilion is adjacent to the United Kingdom Pavilion. Guests cross over a bridge to walk from one to the other. The waterway under the bridge is meant to symbolize the English Channel that divides the two countries.

In the space between France and Morocco, look for the curvy, dark stretch of pavement. Its there to symbolize the Straits of Gibraltar, as you cross over from Europe into Africa.

Hidden Museums

The World Showcase is a great place to learn about other cultures, past and present. There are two museums, hidden in plain sight, that most guests pass right by.

The first is a Viking museum, complete with an authentic Viking sword that is over 1,000 years old. The exhibit is in the Stave Church, the large, sloped, wooden building in the front of Norway. The entrance is easy to miss, with only a red Vikings sign hanging over two imposing, wooden doors.

The museum in Morocco is even easier to miss - many guests don't realize its there at all. Look for the doors in the photo above. Inside you will find a small, ornate museum called the Gallery of Arts and History. The rooms that display the exhibits are a work of art in and of themselves.

Pick a Pearl in Japan

At the Japan Pavilion guests can select an oyster, have it opened up in front of them, and then get to keep the pearl that is inside. Pearls will range in color and size, and if the oyster you select contains no pearl, you can select another one. The cost is less then $20 and there is usually a line.

Guests can also pay to have the pearl(s) set in a necklace or earrings, making for a one of a kind souvenir.

United Kingdom Pavilion

Most guests will just stroll by the United Kingdom Pavilion, or maybe just poke into a few shops. But take the time to explore the back part. Behind the shops and the restaurants, you'll find a wonderful little park, complete with a real hedge maze. Few people notice it, but its fun for kids and adults alike.

In the middle of the hedge maze is a small stage. There, several times a day, a rock band named British Revolution puts on a 30 minute show covering all genres of British rock. This is an excellent spot to rest your feet and enjoy a Bass Ale.

Retired Magic

Some magic just doesn't last. For whatever reason, some Epcot secrets get retired, often with little fanfare. Oh well.

Remi from Ratatouille

Diners in Chefs de France used to be treated to an unexpected visit from the little Chef. A small, audioanimatronic Remi would visit with guests, interact with them and respond to their questions and comments. Remi was removed from 2013, probably due to an untimely visit from the health inspector.

Ringing the Phone Booths

There are three iconic phone booths in the U.K. pavilion, plus one in the Canadian pavilion, that had real working phone numbers. Anyone could call and talk to whatever guest answered. Then at some point in 2013, dialing the numbers would only result in a busy signal or a 'this call can not be completed as dialed' message. As always, there is no official word on why this magic has been retired, but a good guess is that while most calls were likely kindhearted and fun, probably one too many was mean spirited and rude. Oh well.

Hollywood Studios Secrets
Hollywood Studios is home to lots of secrets cleverly integrated into the park. Many are references to classic movies, some still popular, some now forgotten. They add an atmosphere to the park that most people miss out on. Here are a few of the best kept Hollywood Studios secrets.

One of the best kept Hollywood Studios secrets is Characterpalooza. This unofficial and unannounced character meet and greet only lasts 20-30 minutes. Its a free for all featuring many of the characters that take part in Fantasmic. There are no official lines, and the characters often mingle and play around with guests.

Characterpalooza takes place on San Francisco Street in the Streets of America backlot. The characters only come out on days when a Fantasmic show is scheduled, usually 4-5 hours before the official start.

Do Not Pull The Rope

Outside the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, you'll find an archeological dig site with a sign warning you not to pull the rope. Go ahead and give it a few pulls.

Citizens of Hollywood

Also known as Streetmosphere, they are a group of a few dozen improv actors, playing the roles of Hollywood stars, aspiring actors, workers, directors, agents and police officers throughout Hollywood and Sunset Boulevards.

The shows are highly improvised and some involve just a character or two interacting with a family or a small group of guests. (The talent scouts are always recruiting.) While they do occasional skits in the middle of the street, they mostly blend into the scenery and crowds.

If you've hurriedly walked through Hollywood Studios on your way to the popular rides, you've probably walked right past one of them and never even knew it.

Muppet Vision

The waiting area outside this attraction is full of fun little jokes and secrets. You'll notice a sign saying they'll be back in 5 minutes, the key is under the mat. If you're bold enough to look, you'll find the key there.

There are lots of little jokes hidden throughout. A favorite: Look for a net hanging from the ceiling, full of blocks of Jello. It is 'a net full of Jello.' Say it fast, and you have Annette Funicello. Wocka Wocka Wocka, as Fozzie Bear would say.

Gertie the Dinosaur

This giant dinosaur, home of an ice cream stand, is a reference to a now little known movie.

Gertie the Dinosaur was the world's first animated film. Walt Disney himself was inspired by the film's life-like movements and, most importantly, the film's ability to create empathy in the audience for an animated character. Without Gertie there might not have been a Mickey. Here on Echo Lake is a tribute to that film.

Why an ice cream stand though? One of the movie's taglines was "Gertie - She's a scream." Get it?

Min and Bill's Dockside Dinner

This quick service food stand sits across Echo Lake from Gertie. Its a tribute to the Min and Bill's movies of the 30's, a major money maker for MGM studios, the original partner of Disney during the building of Hollywood Studios, formerly Disney-MGM Studios.

Notice the nautical flags above the restaurant. The letters spell out "Dockside Diner". There is also a sequence of numbers in the flags, "782562896354", the meaning of which has never been deciphered.

Also look for the many classic movie references on the shipping crates to the side.

While you're there look to the buildings nearby, you'll see several references to Who Framed Roger

Random Secrets

When walking through the line for Star Tours, listen for a robot paging "Egroeg Sacul". Spell it backwards and you have George Lucas.

The Chinese Theater is a replica of the original in California. Its one of the few replica buildings in Disney Word built to exact scale.

Take time to check out all the characters that have put their foot and hand prints in the sidewalk outside the Chinese Theater.

The deep looking lagoon for Fantasmic is really only 18 inches deep.

On Rock 'n Roller coaster, each train plays a different Aerosmith Song.

Singin' in the Rain Umbrella

Hollywood Studios is full of tributes to classic movies. On the Great Movie Ride, you'll pass the iconic scene from Singin' in the Rain in which Gene Kelly swings from a lamp post.

If you'd like to recreate the experience, there is an umbrella hanging from a lamp post in the Streets of America section of the park. Its a great photo op. But what many guests miss is the soft, black rubber pad on the sidewalk underneath the umbrella. Step on it to make it actually rain.

Great Movie Ride Airplane

The Great Movie Ride takes you past the iconic airport-goodbye scene in Casablanca. On the ride, you'll see Rick saying goodbye to Ilsa, next to the front half of a real airplane.

When building the attraction, the imagineers set out to acquire the same type of airplane used in the movie. By an incredible stroke of luck, there is a very good chance that they found the actual airplane used in the movie. While most of the famous scene was shot with a scale-model airplane in the background, the scene ends with footage of a real Lockheed Electra 12A taking off - very likely the same exact plane now seen on the Great Movie Ride.

If you've read this closely, you may have noticed they only display the front half of the real plane. What happened to the other half? You can spot it as part of the wreckage of a doomed expedition on the Jungle Cruise.

Tower of Terror

Did you ever think there was something about Tower of Terror that just didn't look right? Maybe the pinkish hue or something about the architecture that just doesn't fit? When building it, the imagineers knew it would be visible from parts of Epcot. To solve the problem, they designed it to blend into the Morocco pavilion.

If the sign for Tower of Terror says there is a 13 minute wait - there is no wait.

The details are too numerous to list here, but if you are a fan of the Twilight Zone, you'll have no problem noticing the many references to popular episodes throughout the ride.

Vacation Planning Tip

Most people just expect to stay at a hotel during their trip to Disney World. But what most don't know is there a lot of nearby luxury homes available to rent. If you are going to stay off property anyway, you can get a stand alone vacation home - often with a pool and laundry - for less than the cost of a hotel room. Its an especially good deal if you have a large family or are traveling with a group.

Retired Magic

While Disney World will always be a magical place, some of that magic just isn't going to last. Below are some Hollywood Studios secrets that had to go away.

Yelling "Andy's Coming" at Toy Story Characters

So at one point, for a short while, a yell of "Andy's Coming" would send Toy Story Characters to the ground, just like in the Toy Story movies. They simply do not do this anymore. It got to the point where everyone was yelling it. Now the response is just: "Andy's gone to college."

Still, this myth is often passed around the internet. Countless people try it everyday. Every now and then you get a real gem of an "Andy's Coming" fail:

Giant Hollywood Studios Hidden Mickey

When Hollywood Studios was first built, a giant Hidden Mickey was designed into the park's central hub.

Over time how guests viewed the hub from the ground became more important than how it looked from the sky. There are still remnants of the original mickey mouse shape, but every year this ultimate hidden mickey seems to fade away a little bit more.

The Big DVC Secret
Did you know there is a way to stay at the nicest resorts in Disney World and not spend all your money? This is the biggest money saving secret we know. And its 100% Disney approved.

So you may have seen that Disney has a time share program - the Disney Vacation Club (DVC). Don't worry, the secret isn't buying a time share.

A DVC owner doesn't get partial ownership of a specific hotel room, rather they get a bank of points to spend on a stay at any DVC resort. The cost of a room in 'points' varies by resort and time of year.

What most people don't know is that you can 'rent' unused points from the DVC owners and use them yourself to stay in one of the DVC rooms.

This significantly drives down the cost of staying at high end deluxe resort such as Grand Floridian or Animal Kingdom Lodge. It goes from being a once in a lifetime thing to a reasonable luxury upgrade for your vacation.

Here's an example:

A one week stay in October at Animal Kingdom Lodge:

Room booked through Disney:
Standard View: $2766
Savannah View: $3730

Room rented using DVC points:
Value View: $966
Standard View: $1232
Savannah View: $1624

That's over half off!
You can often stay in a deluxe resort for less than the cost of a moderate.

Prices are dependent on what days you go. To see what it would cost you for the dates you would travel, use this calculator.

The DVC rooms - Disney calls them 'villas' - are integrated into existing Deluxe resorts. So you still have access to the lobby, pools, restaurants, etc. The main difference between the DVC villas and the regular deluxe rooms is the DVC villas are a bit larger and come with a small kitchenette including a sink, microwave, toaster and cabinets.

You actually get more and pay much less.

Some more math:

1 week at Grand Floridian just before Christmas:

Room booked through Disney:
Garden View: $5068
Lake View: $5850

Room rented using DVC points:
Garden View: $1750
Lake View: $2142

With numbers like that, why don't more people know about this DVC point rental secret? Its the same reason most people miss out on all the magic listed on this site. If you aren't actively seeking it out, you'll never know about it. You aren't going to see this on Disney's website - it pays to do your research.

How to Rent DVC Points

So how do you go about renting these points? The cheapest route is to know a DVC member and rent directly from them. It used to be common for people to rent from DVC owners via message boards or eBay but stories of fraud cooled that market. Most people now go through a DVC point rental company that guarantees the rental and streamlines the whole service.

Another Example:

A week during value season in August at the Beach Club:

Room booked through Disney:
Lake View: $2994

Room rented using DVC points:
Lake View: $1680

Additionally, these DVC villas also come in 1 and 2 bedroom suites, complete with full kitchens, laundry and balconies. If you are looking at booking 2 resort rooms, renting a 1 bedroom villa can be a better deal. Not only is the cost equivalent for a much nicer room, you don't have to worry about getting stuck with non-adjacent rooms.

The math on 2 rooms vs renting a 1 bedroom Villa:

Pop Century - Value resort
2 rooms booked through Disney: $2366

Port Orleans Riverside - Moderate resort
2 rooms booked through Disney: $3080

Old Key West - Deluxe resort
1 Bedroom DVC suite rented: $3108

Is there a catch? Well there are a few downsides. To book the most popular resorts, you need to make your reservations well in advance, up to 11 months - though other resorts can be had in a shorter time frame. Also, there is a no cancellation policy, so you have to be sure of your dates. Additionally there is an added daily cost if you want maid service.

Otherwise you will be treated the same as any other guest. We rented points and stayed in a studio at Animal Kingdom Lodge. The extra space, that balcony and the wonderful theming of the resort made it an absolute bargain for what we paid.

Walt Disney World Tips and Advice
Disney world can be full of fun, memories and magic. It can also be full of crowds, costs and discomfort. These tips will help you get the most fun and magic out of your trip, while saving you time, money and energy.

Beating the Crowds

One of the most common complaints about a Disney World vacation is that it was just too crowded. Its no fun standing in long lines, not being able to get a seat at a restaurant and dealing with rude, pushy guests. Here are a few tips for beating the crowds:

The lowest crowds of the year are always when kids are in school. Holiday weekends, spring break season and summertime are absolutely the most crowded times of the year.

When you see a series of long lines to enter a park, attractions or to have your bag searched, always head to the line furthest to the side. These are almost always the shortest as they are often concealed from view by the larger lines in the middle.

Crowds are at their highest midday. Getting to the park before opening is the best way to avoid crowds, no matter the time of year you are visiting. Many experts suggest arriving early, leaving midday for lunch/naps/swimming and returning later in the afternoon.

Consider doing a Touring Plan to help minimize your wait in line.

Expedition Everest, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Test Track have single rider lines. These can be incredibly short and a practical way to ride an attraction when you don't mind separating members of your group.

The 'official' park closing is actually the time at which the lines for the rides close. The park doesn't actually close for at least another hour.

Use this extra hour to avoid long lines for buses and traffic jams in the parking lot. Consider relaxing in the peacefulness of being in an empty park at night or doing your souvenir shopping ( many stores stay open after the rides close).

Staying for the Kiss Goodnight show on Cinderella Castle, usually a half hour or so past official park closing, is a great way to avoid the exiting crowds in Magic Kingdom.

While Extra Magic Hours sound fun, the reality is they generally lead to much higher crowds on days they are offered. Those extra hours are mostly spent in line.

On any given day, some parks are much more crowded than others. If you are flexible on which parks you go to on which days, check out this Crowd Calendar Forecast. The least crowded park is always the most fun!

Shopping and Souvenir Tips

If you want to buy a souvenir, but don't want to have to carry it on the rides, don't worry. Anything you purchase in the parks can be sent back to your hotel room if you're staying on property.

If you decide later something you purchased isn't quite so magical after all, you don't have to return to the store to purchase it. Most merchandise can be returned to any store in the parks or resorts.

Most stores remain open after the rides close. By saving some of your shopping until the evening, you'll have more time for the rides.

Pressed penny machines are scattered all over Walt Disney World. At 50 cents (plus a penny) they area a fun and very affordable souvenir for kids.

Pin trading is popular in the parks. Most cast members have a set of pins they'll happily trade. This is a reasonably priced type of souvenir that is customizable and can lead to fun interactions with the cast members.

Souvenirs sold in Walt Disney World used to be greatly inflated in price, but that's not as true any more. More often then not, products cost as much in the park as out of the park.

Dining Tips

Guests can bring their own food into the parks. Soft sided coolers are allowed too. Combine this fact with one of the several grocery delivery services in Orlando and you can save a lot of cash.

The Chicken and Ribs platter at Cosmic Rays is a ton of food and can easily feed 2 people.

Columbia Harbor House in Liberty Square has an upstairs dining area most guess miss out on. Its much less crowded, much less noisy and well decorated.

Pecos Bills in Adventureland often draws huge crowds at meal times, even on low-crowd days. The dining area is huge, and somewhat maze-like. Take your time and wander towards the back. It will be far less crowded and some of the rooms have great Pirate ambiance.

Get the Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream at Beach Club. Its a giant bowl of eight scoops of ice cream, every topping and a can of whip cream, delivered with flashing lights and sometimes applause. Its less then $30, and can provide a whole family with a sugar rush and a good memory. The rear entrance to Epcot is just a short stroll away, making this a fun stop on your way into the park.

If ordering a drink at Starbucks, and the barista asks for your name, don't be too shy to off the name of your Disney character alter ego. Its fun to hear: "I have a mocha for Mr.Incredible."

Packing Tips

You'll want to have cheap, disposable ponchos for any days where heavy rain is in the forecast. They are far more expensive in the parks then at home. Spending $40 in the parks to keep a family dry is stressful and annoying. Spending $3 beforehand gets the person who packed them a high five.

There are many little girls walking around in princess costumes and castmembers are trained to dote on them. These dresses are very expensive in the park. Purchasing one before hand not only saves money, but gives your little girl something fun to pack herself.

If you're going in late Fall or Winter, make sure to pack layers of clothes. That time of year, Orlando can be warm midday and freezing in the evening.

You can have packages shipped to the Disney resort you are staying at. This is handy for avoiding baggage fees or replacing lost/forgotten items. You can even have groceries shipped in from Amazon.

Animal Kingdom Secrets
Animal Kingdom is full of intricate detail and elaborate backstories to go along with the rides and all the animals. Here are just some of the little known secrets you'll find in Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Perhaps the most elegant and graceful secret in all of Disney World is DiVine. Part human, part tree, she is often found slowly moving her long limbs through the vegetation on the walkway between Africa and Asia. Most guests walk right by, not even noticing she's there. DiVine is like nothing else you'll see in the parks, and worth the effort to find her.

Secret Entrance

There are often long lines to enter Animal Kingdom, especially at opening. To avoid them, head into the Rainforest Cafe entrance to the far left. From there, go through the gift shop and enter the park through this secret entrance.

The photos above are no exaggeration. There is often no wait at this entrance even when the lines are very long at the main gates.

Hidden Codes

Number and letters around the park are sometimes random, but more often than not the Imagineers have put a hidden meaning behind them.

Towards the end of the DINOSAUR attraction, look for the red, yellow and white pipes with chemical names and formulas scrawled across them. Those are the chemicals names for the ingredients of Ketchup, Mustard and Mayo. Why? No one really knows. Though, McDonalds used to be a sponsor of the ride.

Also in DinoLand USA, you'll see several US Route signs. Notice that in the land dedicated to fossils, you are in Diggs County. But more importantly, its US Route 498 that runs through Diggs County. Animal Kingdom opened April '98.

Beastly Kingdom

Animal Kingdom was originally designed to exhibit 3 types of animals: real, extinct and imaginary. The latter were to be in a section of the park called Beastly Kingdom. Unfortunately it was scrapped for budget reasons. But it was nixed late in the planning process, long after it was already incorporated into the design of the park. Notice the dragon on the welcome sign and the section of the parking lot named Unicorn.

Avatar Land is being built on the site originally set aside for Beastly Kingdom and fulfills the original concept of showcasing imaginary creatures.

Tree of Life

No, its not real. You'd be surprised how many people ask if it is.

Its a tribute to the imagineers hard work on the 14-story structure. The tree contains over 7,000 branches, many with joints that allow them to sway in the wind. The branches are covered with over 100,000 fake leaves. And yes, it can withstand hurricane force winds.

The core of the structure is actually an off-shore oil rig, turned upside down. It was just the right shape and strength needed to support the tree. But it is just a bit ironic to have the icon of a park with an environmental message built upon an oil rig.

Hard to see on a map, there are several 'hidden' trails crisscrossing the area around the Tree of Life. These make for good shortcuts from one side of the park to the other and are lined with animals.

Over 300 different animals are carved into the Tree of Life. The most famous is the likeness of an actual chimp named Greybeard, who was studied by Jane Goodall herself. Greybeard was the first chimpanzee to be observed by a scientist using tools in the wild, a major breakthrough in the understanding of animal intelligence. You'll find the carving near the entrance to Tough to Be a Bug.

Kilimanjaro Safari

For many this attraction is the highlight of a day at Disney's Animal Kingdom. But it takes a few secrets to make the experience so magical.

One of the dramatic experiences of the safari is drive past Pride Rock. There its common to see a lion or two perched on a picturesque ledge. To make this a recurring reality, the imagineers have piped chilled air through tiny holes on the ledge in order to entice the lions to hang around that perfect spot for a photo.

Likewise, food is hidden in trees, and behind hallowed out logs and rocks all along the path the safari vehicle takes. This encourages the otherwise shy animals to get up close and personal.

While the savannah may look cozy, the animals are required to spend the night in the safety of their pens. Rounding up the animals each day would be no small task. So the animal trainers instead conditioned each species to respond to a specific sound. When they hear it, they magically walk back to their pens for the night.

Its very unlikely any dangerous animal could escape its confinements. But the astute observer will note that Animal Kingdom is the only Disney theme park with doors on the outside of the restrooms. These are in place to offer shelter should any escaped predator turn guests into prey.

Hidden Mickeys

Hidden Mickeys are scattered throughout Animal Kingdom. Here are a couple easy ones...

And a couple harder ones...

Look deep within my eye...

Near Rafiki's Planet Watch
In the Conservation Station
Going on a Hidden Mickey safari is a great way to spend time in Animal Kingdom. Luckily there is a Hidden Mickeys Field Guide because just like a real safari, its pretty tough to do on your own.

The Musicals

Most people see Animal Kingdom as simply a top notch zoo, unaware your ticket also comes with free admission to two very high quality musicals.

Finding Nemo - The Musical

Finding Nemo is an elaborate musical directed by Tony-Award winning director Peter Brosius. It features the cast of Nemo come to life as gigantic puppets, carried around by the actors. But for many, the 16 original songs by Kristen and Robert Lopez are what make this show a best kept secret.

You may already be familiar with some of their work. This is the same husband and wife team that wrote Let It Go from Frozen.

Festival of the Lion King

Another Broadway caliber musical. It follows the story of the Lion King, with a mix of new and familiar songs. The show is highlighted by impressive acrobatics and even a fire dancer. Children are invited to dance around the stage during one part of the show.

Kali River Rapids Button

Press button. Make elephant squirt water onto unsuspecting riders. Repeat. Great for a little sibling too small to ride to to get in on the fun. The buttons are located on the bridge near the exit.

Retired Magic

The fun can't last forever. Some Animal Kingdom secrets are short lived, some disappear without warning. Enjoy what you read above while you can, Disney World is always a work in progress. Here are few secrets that have been retired...

Pipa The Talking Recycling Bin

Guests used to be surprised to find a talking Recycling Bin in Animal Kingdom. Named "Pipa", the recycling bin would move and interact with guests. Pipa was a cousin to PUSH the Talking Trashcan in Magic Kingdom. Sadly, both were retired in 2014 over a contract dispute. Hopefully they'll return one day.

Bamboo was a "living statue", similar to DiVine. Using long poles to help walk about, Bamboo was more interactive with guests, seen at times posing for pictures. Bamboo had a more masculine look, rather than the graceful, feminine look of DiVine.

No word on why Bamboo was retired, but make sure you check out DiVine while she's still there, because you never know when she'll join Bamboo on the list of retired Animal Kingdom secrets.
Flynn narrates)
This is the story of how I died.
Don't worry, this is actually
a very fun story. And the truth is, it isn't even mine.
This is the story of a girl named,
And it starts, with the sun.
Now, once upon a time, a single
drop of sunlight fell from the heavens.
And from this small drop of sun,
grew a magic, golden, flower.
It had the ability to heal the sick,
and injured.
Oh, you see that old woman,
over there?
You might want to remember her.
She's kind of important.
Well, centuries pass and a hop
skip and a bump right away there grew a kingdom.
The kingdom was ruled by a beloved
King and Queen.
And the Queen, well she was about
to have a baby,
and she got sick,
really, sick.
She was running out of time.
And that's when people usually start
to look for a miracle.
Or in this case, a magic golden flower.
Ahhh, I told you she'd
be important.
You see instead of sharing the
suns gift,
this woman, Mother Gothel,
hoarded it's healing power
and used it to keep herself
young for hundreds of years.
And all she had to do,
was sing a special song.
Flower gleam and glow,
let your power shine
Make the clock reverse,
bring back what once was mine
What once was mine
All right, you get the jist. She sings
she turns young, creepy, right?
We've found it!
Flynn: The magic of the golden flower,
healed the queen.
A healthy baby girl,
a princess was born.
With beautiful golden hair.
I'll give you a hint.
That's Rapunzel.
To celebrate her birth, the King and
Queen launched a flying lantern into the sky.
For that one moment,
everything was perfect.
And then that moment ended.
Flower, gleam and glow,
let your powers shine
Make the clock re...
Gothel broke into the castle and stole
the child, just like that...gone.
The Kingdom searched and searched,
but they could not find the Princess.
But deep within the forest
In a hidden tower.
Gothel raised the child
as her own.
...bring back what was lost, what once
was mine, what once was mine.
Gothel had found her new magic flower.
But this time she was determined
to keep it hidden.
Why can't I go outside?
The outside world is a dangerous place.
Filled with horrible, selfish people.
-You must stay here, where you're safe.
Do you understand, flower?
-Yes, Mommy.
Flynn: But the walls of that tower,
could not hide everything.
Each year on her birthday, the King
and Queen released thousands of lanterns
into the sky.
In hope that one day, their lost
Princess, would return.
Hmm, Well I guess Pascal's
not hiding out here.
That's twenty two for me.
How about twenty three,
out of forty five?
Okay, well, what do you want to do?
Yeah, I don't think so.
I like it in here and so do you.
Oh, come on Pascal, it's
not so bad in there.
7a.m. the usual morning line-up
Starting the chores I sweep
'til the floors all clean
Polish and wax, do laundry and
mop and shine up.
Sweep again, and by then
it's like 7:15.
So I'll read a book,
or maybe two or three.
Id add a few new paintings
to my gallery.
I'll play guitar, and knit, and cook
and basically.
Wonder when will my
life, begin.
Then after lunch, it's puzzles,
and darts and baking.
Papier-mch, a bit of ballet,
and chess.
Pottery, and ventriloquy, candle making.
Then I'll stretch, maybe sketch.
Take a climb, sew a dress, and I'll re-read the books.
If I have time to spare, I'll paint the wall
some more, I'm sure there's room somewhere.
And then I'll brush, and brush, and brush,
and brush my hair.
Stuck in the same place
I've always been.
And I'll keep wondering, and wondering,
and wondering...
Wondering, just when will my life begin?
Tomorrow night, the lights will appear.
Just like they do on my birthday,
each year.
What is it like out there,
where they glow?
Now that I'm older. Mother
might just let me go.
I could get used to a view like this.
-Flynn, come on.
-Hold on.
Yep, I'm used to it.
Guys I want a castle.
We do this job, you could
buy your own castle.
Oh, hay fever?
Wait, wait.
Hey, wait!
Can't you picture me in a castle of
my own?
I mean, I certainly can.
Oh, the things we've seen and
it's only eight in the morning.
Gentlemen, this is a very big day.
(sighs) This is it. This is
a very big day, Pascal.
(giggles) I'm finally going to do it.
-I'm going to ask her.
Let down your hair.
It's time.
I know, I know. Come on, don't
let her see you.
Rapunzel, I'm not getting any
younger down here.
Coming, mother.
Hi, welcome home, mother.
Oh, Rapunzel. How you manage to do
that every single day,
without fail, it looks absolutely
exhausting, darling.
Oh, it's nothing.
Then I don't know why it
takes so long.
Oh, darling. I'm just teasing.
All, mother.
As you know tomorrow is a very big day.
Rapunzel look at that mirror.
You know what I see?
I see a strong, confident,
beautiful young lady.
Oh look, you're here too.
I'm just teasing, stop taking
everything so seriously.
Okay, so mother. I was thinking tomorrow...
Flower, mother's feeling a little run down.
Would you sing for me, dear?
-Then we'll talk.
-OH! Of course, mother.
(Sings very fast)
Flower gleam and glow, Let your power shine,
Make the clock reverse, bring back what once was mine.
Heal what has been hurt, Change the fate's design.
Save what has been lost, Bring back what once was mine.
-So, mother,
Earlier I ask if tomorrow was a
pretty big day, and you didn't really respond,
So I'm just going to tell you.
It's my birthday!
No, no, no can't be.
I distinctly remember. Your
birthday was last year.
That's the funny thing about birthdays.
They're kind of an annual thing.
Mother, I'm turning eighteen.
And I wanted to ask,
what I really want for this birthday.
Actually what I want for every birthday...
Rapunzel please, stop with the mumbling.
You know how I feel about the mumbling.
Blah, blah, blah,...blah.
It's very annoying.
I'm just teasing, you're adorable
I love you so much, darling.
Oh, I want to see the floating lights.
Well I was hoping you would
take me to see the floating lights.
Oh, you mean the stars.
That's the thing
I've charted stars and they're
always constant.
But these, they appear every year
on my birthday, Mother.
Only on my birthday.
And I can't help but feel that they're,
They're meant for me.
I need see them, Mother.
And not just from my window.
In person.
I have to know what they are.
You want to go outside?
Oh, why Rapunzel.
Look at you, as
fragile as a flower.
Still a little sapling, just a sprout.
-You know why we stay up in this tower
-I know, but...
Thats right, to keep you safe,
and sound, dear.
Guess I always knew this day was coming.
Know that soon you'd want
to leave the nest.
-Soon, but not yet. Shhh..
Trust me pet,
Mother, knows best.
Mother knows best,
listen to your mother.
It's a scary world
out there.
Mother knows best.
One way or another, something
will go wrong, I swear.
Ruffians, thugs, poison Ivy,
Cannibals, and snakes,
the plague.
Also large bugs, men with pointy teeth.
And stop, no more,
you'll just upset me.
Mother's right here,
mother will protect you.
Darling here's what I suggest.
Skip the drama,
stay with Mama.
Mother, knows best.
Mother knows best.
Take it from your mumsey.
On your own, you won't survive.
Sloppy underdressed, immature, clumsy,
Please, they'll eat you up,
Gullible, nave,
positively grubby.
Ditzy and a bit,
well, hmm vague.
Plus I believe, getting
kinda chubby.
I'm just saying,
'Cause I wuv you.
Mother understands,
Mothers here to help you.
All I have is one request.
Don't ever ask to
leave this tower, again.
Yes, Mother.
Ahh, I love you very much, dear.
I love you more.
I love you most.
Don't forget it.
You'll regret it.
Knows best.
Rapunzel, I'll see you
in a bit, my flower.
I'll be here.
No, no no. This is bad, this is
very, very bad, This is really bad.
They just can't get my nose right.
Who cares.
Well it's easy for you to say.
You guys look amazing.
All right, okay. Give me a boost,
and I'll pull you up.
Give us the satchel first.
Wha..? I just...
I can't believe, that after all
we've been together,
you don't trust me.
Now help us up, pretty boy.
Sorry, my hands are full.
Retrieve that satchel with any force.
We got him now, Maximus.
Heyah! Come flea-bag, forward.
No, stop it.
(Horse whinnies in distance)
Alone at last.
Okay, okay, I got a person
in the closet.
I got a person in the closet.
I got a person in my closet!
To weak to handle myself
out there, huh Mother?
Well, Tell that to my pan here.
Let down your hair.
One moment, Mother.
I have a big surprise.
Uh, I do too.
Oh, I bet my surprise is bigger.
I don't think you got it.
I found my parsnips. I can always make
hazel nut soup for dinner, your favorite.
Well mother, there's something
I want to tell you.
Oh Rapunzel, you know I hate
leaving you after a fight.
Especially when I've done
absolutely nothing wrong.
Okay, I've been thinking a lot
about what you said, earlier.
I hope you're not still talking
about the stars.
Before you answer, yes
I'm leading up to that.
Because I really thought
we dropped the issue, sweetheart.
No Mother, I'm just saying,
you think I'm not strong enough
to handle myself out there.
Oh darling, I know you're not strong
enough to handle yourself out there.
-But if you just...
-Rapunzel, we're done talking about this.
-But trust me, I...
-...know what I'm
-Oh, come on.
-You have no other life, Rapunzel.
You are not leaving this tower,
Oh, great. Now I'm the bad guy.
All I was gonna say, mother
is that...
I know what I want for my
birthday, now.
And what is that?
New paint. That paint made from
the white shells you once brought me.
Well that is a very long trip,
Almost three day's time.
I just thought it was a
better idea than, stars.
You sure you'll be all right,
on your own?
I know I'm safe, as long
as I'm here.
I'll be back in three days time.
I love you very much, dear.
I love you more.
I love you most.
Struggling...struggling is pointless.
I know why you're here.
And I'm not afraid of you.
Who are you, and how
did you find me?
Ah hah.
Who are you, and how
did you find me?
(Clears throat)
I know not who you are.
Nor how I came to find you.
But may I just say.
How you doing?
The names Flynn Ryder.
How's it going, huh?
Who else knows my location,
Flynn Ryder?
-All right, Blondie.
Gesundheit, here's the thing.
I was in a situation,
Gallivanting through the forest.
I can across your tower and...
Ho, ho no, where is my satchel?
I hid it, somewhere you'll
never find it.
It's in the pot, isn't it.
Ahh, would you stop that.
Now it's hidden where you'll never find it.
So, what do you want,
with my hair?
-To cut it?
-Sell it?
Listen, the only thing I want
to do with your hair,
is to get out of it.
Wait, you don't want my hair?
Why on earth would
I want your hair?
Look, I was being chased, I saw a
tower, I climbed it, end of story.
You're, telling the truth?
I know, but he's someone
that can take me.
I think he's telling the truth.
Nothing I think,
but what choice do I have?
Uh, okay Flynn Ryder,
I'm prepared to offer you a deal.
-Look this way.
Do you know what these are?
You mean the lantern thing
they do for the princess?
I knew they weren't stars.
Well, tomorrow evening
they will light the night sky,
with these lanterns.
You will act as my guide,
Take me to these lanterns,
and return me home safely.
Then, and only then, will
I return your satchel to you.
That is my deal.
Yeah, no can do.
Unfortunately, the kingdom and I
are not exactly, simpatico,
at the moment. So I
won't be taking you anywhere.
Something brought you here,
Flynn Ryder.
-Call it what you will, fate, destiny.
-A horse.
So I have made the decision to
trust you.
A horrible decision, really.
But trust me, when I tell you this.
You can tear this tower apart,
brick by brick.
but without my help, you will
never find your precious satchel.
(Clears throat)
Let me just get this straight.
I take you to see the lanterns.
Bring you back home.
and you'll give me back my satchel?
I promise.
And when I promise something, I never
ever break that promise.
All right, listen, I didn't want
to have to want to do this,
but you leave me no choice.
Here comes the 'smolder'.
This is kind of an off day for me.
This doesn't normally happen.
Fine, I'll take you to see the lanterns.
-You broke my 'smolder'.
You coming, Blondie?
Look at the world so close, and I'm
half way to it
Look at it all, so big
do I even dare?
I just have to do it.
Should I? No.
Here I go.
Just smell the grass, the dirt.
Just like I dreamed they'd be.
Just feel that summer breeze.
The way it's calling me.
For like the first time ever,
I'm completely free.
I could go running, and racing,
and dancing...
and chasing, and leaping
and bounding.
hair flying, heart pounding
and splashing and reeling.
And finally feeling,
Now's when my life
I can't believe I did this.
(Mumbles) I can't believe I did this.
Mother will be so furious.
That's okay, what she doesnt
know won't kill her, right?
Oh my gosh, this will kill her.
I am a horrible person,
I'm going back.
I am never going
I am a despicable human being.
Best day, ever!
(Clears throat)
You know, I can't help but notice,
you seem a little at war
with yourself, here.
-The whole day,
Bits and pieces.
Sort of protective mother,
forbidden road trip.
This is serious stuff.
But let me ease your conscious.
This is part of growing up.
A little rebellion, a little adventure.
That's good, healthy even.
(Laughs) You think?
I know. You're way over thinking
your stress meter.
Did your mother deserve it?
Will this break her heart
and crush her soul?
Well of course.
But you just got to do it.
Break her heart?
-It can.
-Crush her soul?
Like a grape.
She would be heart broken,
you're right.
Likely, all right, oh no.
All right, I can't believe I'm
saying this, but...
I'm letting you out of the deal.
-That's right.
But don't make me. Let's
just turn around,
and you go home, and your frog.
I get back my satchel.
You get back a mother
daughter relationship.
based on mutual trust and
We part ways as unlikely friends.
-No, I am seeing those lanterns.
-Oh, come on!
What is it going to take
to get my satchel back?
I will use this.
What is it, ruffians, thugs?
Stay calm, it can probably smell fear.
Oh, sorry.
Getting just a little bit, jumpy.
Probably be best if we avoid
ruffians and thugs, though.
Yeah, that's probably best.
Are you hungry?
I know a great place for lunch.
-Oh, don't you worry.
You'll know it when you smell it.
Oh, a Palace horse.
Where's your rider?
Rapunzel, let down your hair.
Oh no!
I know it's around here, somewhere.
Ah, there it is.
The Snuggly duckling.
Don't worry, very quaint place,
perfect for you.
Don't want you scaring, and giving
up on this endeavor now do we?
-Well, I do like duckling.
Garcon, your finest table, please.
You smell that?
Take a deep breath through the nose.
Really, it's pretty bad.
What are you getting?
Because to me, it's part bad smell.
and the other part is
really bad when it smells.
I don't know why, but overall,
it smells like the color brown.
You're in luck.
That's a lot of hair.
She's growing it out, is that blood
on your moustache?
Goldie, look at this, look at
all the blood on his moustache.
Look, I'm sure thats a lot of blood.
Hey, you don't look so good, Blondie.
Maybe we should get you home.
Call it a day.
Probably better off. This is a five
star joint after all.
And if you can't handle this place, well
maybe you should be back in your tower.
Is this you?
No, no this is being mean.
Oh, it's him all right.
Gretta, go find some guards.
That reward is going to
buy me a new hook.
I can use the money.
What about me?
I'm broke.
-Boys, stop!
-We can work this out.
Hey, leave him alone.
-Give me back my guide.
Not the nose, not the nose,
not the nose!
Put him down!
Okay, I don't know where I am,
and I need him to take me to see the lanterns,
because I've been dreaming about
them my entire life.
Find your humanity.
Havent any of you ever had a dream?
I, had a dream.
I'm malicious mean and scary.
My sneer could curdle dairy.
And violence-wise my hands
are not the cleanest.
But despite my evil look,
and my temper and my hook.
I've always yearned to
be a concert pianist.
Can't cha see me on the stage
performing Mozart.
Tickling the ivories,
'til they gleam.
Yep, I'd rather be called deadly.
For my killer show-tune medley.
Thank you.
'Cause way down deep inside
I've got a dream.
He's got a dream,
he's got a dream.
See, I ain't as cruel and
vicious as I seem.
Though I feel like breaking femurs.
You can count me with the dreamers.
Like everybody else,
I've gotta dream.
I've got scars and lumps and bruises.
Plus there's something here that oozes.
Let's not even mention
my complexion.
But despite my extra toes.
And my goiter and my nose.
I really want to make a love
Can't you see me with a special
little lady.
Rowing in a row boat,
down the stream.
Though I'm one disgusting blighter.
I'm a lover, not a fighter.
'Cause way down deep
inside, I gotta dream.
I gotta dream,
I gotta dream.
And I know one day
will never reign supreme.
Though my face leaves
people screaming.
There's a child behind
it dreaming.
Like everybody else,
I've gotta dream.
Tor would like to quit
and be a florist.
Gunther does interior design.
Ulf is into mime,
Attilas cupcakes are sublime.
Bruiser knits, Killer sews.
Fang does little puppet shows.
And Vladimir collects
ceramic unicorns.
What about you?
-I'm sorry me?
-What's your dream?
No, no, no. Sorry boys,
I don't sing.
I have dreams like you,
no really.
Just much less, touchy-feely.
They mainly happen somewhere
warm and sunny.
On an island that I own,
tanned and rested and alone.
Surrounded by enormous
piles of money.
-I had a dream...I had a dream.
-(Thugs) Shes got a dream.
I just want to see the floating
lanterns gleam.
And with every passing hour.
I'm so glad I left my tower.
Like all you lovely folks,
I've got a dream.
She's gotta dream, He's gotta dream.
They've gotta dream, we've gotta dream.
So our differences ain't
really that extreme. We're one big team.
Call us brutal or sadistic
and grotesquely optimistic.
'Cause way down deep inside,
we've gotta dream.
We gotta dream,
I gotta dream.
Yes everybody here has got a...
I found the guards.
Where's Ryder,
where is he?
I know he's in here somewhere.
Find him, turn the place
upside down!
Go, live your dream.
I will.
Your dream stinks,
I was talking to her.
Thanks for everything.
I believe this is the man
you're looking for.
You got me.
Sir, there's no sign of Ryder.
What he's doing?
A passage, come on men,
let's go.
Corman, make sure those
boys don't get away.
Play it safe.
We'll go get the crown.
I gotta dream,
I got some dream.
Hi, ohhh, somebody get me a glass.
'Cause I just found me a
tall drink of water.
Oh stop it, you big lug.
Where's that tunnel lead out?
Well, that got us safe.
Didn't know you had that in you
back there.
I know...
Sooo, Flynn.
Where are you from?
Whoa, whoa, sorry Blondie,
I don't do that story.
However I am becoming very
interested in yours.
Now I...I know I'm not suppose
to mention the hair.
-Or, the Mother.
-Uh, uh.
-Frankly I'm to scared to
ask about the frog.
-Gila monster.
Here's my question, if you want
to see the lanterns so badly,
why haven't you gone before?
Uhh, hey, well...
Uh, Flynn...
Who's that?
They don't like me.
-Who's that?
-They don't like me either.
-Who's that?
-Lets just assume for the moment,
that everyone here doesn't like me.
I've waited a long time for this.
Oh mama, I have got to get me
one of these.
You should know that this is
the bravest thing I've ever done.
How 'bout two out of three?
Flynn, look out.
You should see your faces.
'Cause you look...
Come on, Blondie.
It's no use,
I can't see anything.
Hey, there's no point.
It's pitch black down there.
This is all my fault.
She was right, I never
should have done this.
I'm so...
I'm so sorry, Flynn.
My real name is,
Eugene Fitzherbert.
So you might as well know.
I have magic hair that glows
when I sing.
I have magic hair,
that glows when I sing.
Flower gleam and glow.
Let your power shine.
We made it.
Your hair glows.
I'm alive.
I'm alive!
Never seen that coming.
Her hair actually glows.
-Why does her hair glow?
It doesn't just glow.
Why is he smiling at me?
I'll kill him.
I'll kill that, Ryder.
Better off to kill him.
Get back the crown, come on.
Perhaps you want to stop acting
like wild dogs chasing their tails,
and think for a moment.
Oh, please there's no
need for that.
Well if that's all you desire,
then be on your way.
I was going to offer you something
worth one thousand crowns,
would have made you
rich beyond belief.
And that wasn't even the best part.
Oh well, C'est la vie.
Enjoy your crown.
What's the best part?
It comes with revenge
for Flynn Ryder.
So you're being strangely cryptic as you wrap
your magic hair around my injured hand.
-(Grunts in pain)
Just don't...don't freak out.
Flower gleam and glow
Let your powers shine
Make the clock reverse
Bring back what once was mine.
Heal what has been hurt.
Change the fates design.
Save what has been lost.
Bring back what once was mine.
What once was mine.
-Don't freak out.
-(Stifled)Ahhh. I'm not freaking out,
are you freaking out?
Oh that's very interesting hair.
In the back of me, why is it possessed?
It' long has it been doing that?
Forever, I guess.
Mother said when I was a baby
people tried to cut it.
They wanted to take it for themselves.
But, once it's cut.
It turns brown, and looses it's power.
A gift like that, it has to be protected.
That's why Mother never let me...
That's why I...I never left the...
You never left that tower.
And you're still gonna go back?
It's complicated.
So, Eugene Fitzherbert, huh?
Ah yeah, well. I'll spare
you the sob story of
poor orphan Eugene Fitzherbert, it's
a little bit ah...
It's a little bit of a downer.
There was this book.
A book I used to read every
night to all the younger kids.
The tales of Flynnigan Ryder.
Swashbuckling rogue,
richest man alive.
Not bad with the ladies. I...nothing
to brag about, of course.
Was he a thief too?
Ahh, well no.
Actually, he had enough
money to do whatever he wanted to do.
He could go anywhere that
he wanted to go.
And...and, for a kid,
with nothing.
I don't know, I...
It just seemed like a better option.
You can't tell anyone,
about this, okay?
It could ruin my whole reputation.
Ahh, you wouldn't want that.
Oh, the thing about a reputation,
it's all that a man has.
Um, well I should uh...
I, I should get some
more firewood.
For the record, I like Eugene Fitzherbert
much better than, Flynn Ryder.
Well, then you'd be the first.
But, thank you.
Well, I thought he'd never leave.
Hello, dear.
But I...I..., was going to...
How did you find me?
Oh, it was easy really.
I just listened to the sound of
complete and utter betrayal,
and followed that.
-We're going home, Rapunzel.
-You...You don't understand.
I've been on the most incredible journey.
I've seen and learned so much.
I even met someone.
Yes, the wanted thief.
I'm so proud.
-Come on, Rapunzel.
-Mother, wait.
I think
I think he likes me.
Likes you? Please, Rapunzel,
that's demented.
-But mother, I...
-This is why you never should have left.
Dear this whole romance that
you've invented,
just proves you're to naive to be here.
Why a kid like you?
Come on now, really.
Look at you, that face,
that ancient dress.
Do be a darling, come with mommy.
I see how it is.
Rapunzel, knows best.
Rapunzel's so mature, now.
Such a clever grown up, miss.
Rapunzel knows best.
Fine, if you're so sure now.
Go ahead then give him, THIS!
How could you.
This is why he's here.
Don't let him deceive you.
Give it to him, watch, you'll see.
-I trust him.
Trust me my dear, that's
how fast he'll leave you.
I won't say I told you
Rapunzel knows best.
So if he's such a dream boat.
Go and put him, to the test.
-Mother, wait.
If he's lying, don't come
Mother, knows best.
So, hey uh,
can I ask you something?
Is there any chance that I'm going
to get super strength in my hand?
Because I'm not going to lie.
That would be stupendous.
Hey, you all right?
Oh, sorry, yes.
Just um, lost in thought,
I guess.
I mean because here's the thing.
Superhuman good looks,
I've always had 'em.
Born with it, but superhuman strength?
Imagine the possibilities, I'm just...
Patience boys. All good things
to those who wait.
Hmm, what?
Well I hope you're
here to apologize.
No, no put me down.
No, no!
-Release him.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Easy boy, easy,
calm down.
Easy boy.
That's it.
Now sit.
Good, now drop the boot.
Drop it.
Oh, you are such a good boy.
Yes you are.
You all tired, chasing the bad
man all over the place?
Excuse me.
Nobody appreciates
you, do they?
Do they?
Come one, he's a bad horse.
Aw, he's nothing but
a big sweetheart.
Isn't that right?
You've got to be
kidding me.
Look, today is kinda the
biggest day of my life.
And I need, I need you
not to get him arrested.
Just for twenty four hours and then,
you can chase each other to
your hearts content.
And it's also my birthday.
Just so you know.
(Mouths) WOW
Thank you.
It's the lost Princess.
Take a bow.
Hey Max.
What? I brought them.
Most of them.
Where are we going?
Well, best day of your life.
I figured you should have
a decent seat.
You okay?
I'm terrified.
I've been looking out the
window for eighteen years.
Dreaming about what it would feel
like when those lights rise in the sky.
What if it's not everything
that I dreamed it would be?
It will be.
And what if it is?
What then?
Well that's the good part,
I guess.
You get to go find a new dream.
All those days
Watching from the windows.
All those years
Outside looking in
All that time
Never even knowing
Just how blind I've been
Now I'm here
Blinking in the starlight
Now I'm here
Suddenly I see
Standing here
It's oh, so clear
I'm where I'm meant to be
And at last, I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted
And at last, I see the light
And it's like the sky is new
And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once
Everything looks different
Now that I see you
I have something for you, too.
I should have given it to you
before, but I was just scared.
The thing is,
I'm not scared anymore.
You know what I mean?
I'm starting to.
All those days
Chasing down a daydream
All those years
Living in a blur
All that time
Never truly seeing
Things the way they were
Now she's here
Shining in the starlight
Now she's here
Suddenly I know
If she's here
It's crystal clear
I'm where I'm meant to go
And at last, I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted
And at last, I see the light
And it's like the sky is new
And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once
Everything is different
Now that I see you.
Now that I see you.
Is everything okay?
Huh? Oh yes.
Uh, yes of course.
I just...
I'm sorry, everything is fine.
There's just something I
have to take care of.
I'll be right back.
It's all right, Pascal.
Ahh, there you are.
I've been searching everywhere for
you guys. Since we got separated.
Hey the sideburns are coming
in nice, huh?
You gotta be excited about that.
Anyhow, just wanted to say,
I shouldn't have split.
The crown is all yours.
I'll miss you, but I think
its for the... best.
Holding out on us again?
Hey, Ryder?
-We heard you found something.
Something much more valuable
than a crown.
We want her, instead.
I was starting to think you
ran off with the crown and left me.
He did.
He wouldn't
See for yourself.
Fair trade.
A crown, for the girl
with the magic hair.
How much do you think someone
will pay to stay young and healthy forever?
No, please.
Oh, my precious girl.
Are you all right?
Are you hurt?
-How did you?
-I was so worried about
you dear.
So I followed you.
And I saw them attack you.
Let's go, let's go
before they come to.
You were right, mother.
You were right about everything.
I know darling.
I know.
The crown.
Wait, wait, wait.
Guys, guys.
Let's get this over with, Ryder.
Where are we going?
There, it never happened.
Now, wash up for dinner.
I'm making hazel nut soup.
I really did try, Rapunzel.
I tried to warn you,
what was out there.
The world is dark, and selfish,
and cruel.
If it finds even the slightest
ray of sunshine.
It destroys it.
How did you know about her?
Tell me, now!
It wasn't us.
It was the old lady.
Old lady?
Wait, no, wait!
You don't understand,
she's in trouble.
Rapunzel, what's going on up there?
Are you all right?
I'm the lost princess.
Please, speak up, Rapunzel.
You know how I hate the mumbling.
I am the lost Princess.
Aren't I?
Did I mumble, Mother?
Or should I even call you that?
Rapunzel, do you even hear yourself?
Why would you ask such
a ridiculous question?
It was you!
It was all, you.
Everything I did, was to protect you.
-I spent my entire life.
Hiding from people who
would use me for my power.
-I should have been hiding.
From you.
Where will you go?
He won't be there for you.
What did you do to him?
That criminal, is to
be hanged for his crimes.
-Now, now. It's all right.
Listen to me.
All of this is as
it should be.
You were wrong about the world.
And you were wrong about me.
And I will never let you
use my hair, again!
You want me to be the bad guy?
Now I'm the bad, guy.
What's this?
Open up.
What's the password?
Open this door.
Not even close.
You have three seconds
Fry pans.
Who knew, right?
(Screams like girls)
-Head down?
-Head down.
-Thumbs in?
-Thumbs in.
-Knees apart?
-Knees apart.
Knees apart?
Why do I need to keep my...
You brought them here?
Thank you.
No really, thank you.
Uh, I feel maybe this whole time
we've just misunderstanding one another.
And we really just, yeah
your right. We should go.
Okay Max, lets see how
fast you can run.
Rapunzel, let down your hair.
Rapunzel, I thought I'd never
see you again.
Now look what you've done,
Oh don't worry dear.
Our secret will die with him.
And as for us?
We are going where no one
will ever find you, again.
Rapunzel, really.
Enough all ready.
Stop fighting me.
NO! I won't stop.
For every minute of the rest
of my life I will fight.
I will never stop trying
to get away from you.
But, if you let me save him...
I will go with you.
(Moan) No.
No, Rapunzel.
I'll never run, I'll never
try to escape.
Just let me heal him. And
you and I will be together.
Forever, just like you want.
Everything will be
the way it was.
I promise.
Just like you want.
Just let me heal him.
In case you get any ideas
about following us.
Oh, I'm so sorry.
-Everything is going to okay, in a moment.
-No, Rapunzel!
-I promise, you have to trust me.
I can't let you do this.
But I can't let you die.
-But if you do this.
-Then you...will die.
It's gonna be all right.
Rapunzel, wait...
Eugene, what...?
What have you done?
No, no, no,
No, no, no, no, Eugene.
Oh, look at me, look I'm right here.
Don't go, stay with me, Eugene.
Flower gleam and glow,
Let your powers shine
Make the clock reverse,
bring back what once was mine.
You were my new dream.
And you were mine.
Heal what has been hurt.
Change the fates design.
Save what has been lost.
Bring back what once was mine.
What once was mine.
Did I ever tell you, I've
got a thing for brunettes?
(Eugene narrates)
Well, you could imagine what
happened next.
The kingdom rejoiced.
The lost Princess had returned.
The party lasted an entire week.
And, honestly I don't
remember much of it.
Dreams came true
all over the place.
That guy went on to become the
most famous concert pianist in the world.
And this guy? Well he eventually
found some to love.
As for this guy, well,
I assume he's happy.
He can't be proved otherwise.
Thanks to Maximus, crime in the kingdom
disappeared almost over night.
As did most of the apples.
Pascal, never changed.
At last Rapunzel was home,
and she finally had a real family.
She was a Princess worth
waiting for.
But above all, she led her kingdom
with all the grace and wisdom that
her parents did before her.
And as for me, well.
I started going by Eugene again.
Stopped thieving, basically
turned it all around.
But I know what the big question is.
Did Rapunzel and I ever get married?
Well I'm pleased to tell you.
After years, and years of asking,
and asking, and asking.
I finally said yes.
Rapunzel: Eugene
All right, I asked her.
Will we live happily ever after?
Yes, we will.
