DNA
Deoxyribonucleic acid, contains the genetic instructions used in the development and functioning of all living organisms.
Genes
Heredity of living organisms
Chromosomes
Coiled up DNA
Chromatin
Combination of DNA with protiens to make up the contents of the nucleus
Protiens
Biochemical compound
DNA terms
Double helix, twisted ladder
Bases that pair together in DNA
Guanine:cytosine (G=C or C=G
Adenine:thymine (A=T or T=A
DNA
The backbone is made up of sugars or deoxyribose
Why DNA is all wound up
If a fruit flys DNA was streched out it would be 12 times longer than the fruit fly basically it is to make room and be organized
Why the order of base pairs is important
It is important because the sequence of the genes will change sending diffrent genetic material
Where DNA is kept in a cell
It is kept in the nucleus it is kept there to protect it because the nucleus is the most protected part in the cell it is almost like a brain or the president of the cell
