Became famous for writing about the Peloponnesian War.`

Realist, questioned many old ideas.

Known for sharp wit. Finest writer of Greek Comedies.

Father of geometry.
Archmedes
Calculated the value of pi. Also used math to show how levers moved.
Aristachus
Correctly believed that the earth and other planets moved around the sun.
Eratosthenes
Calculated the distance around the earth with amazing accuracy.
