artifact
Physical item from the past made by humans. May include tools,clothing, jewelry, weapons, etc.
context
Circumstances that surround a situation or event.
culture
A system of shared beliefs, values, customs, behaviors and artifacts that the members of a society use and transmit from generation to generation
Facts
Things that can be shown to be true or to have happened.
History
The study of past events, particularly in human affairs.
Historical Inquiry
The process of asking a historical question and then examining the historical record to find the answer

Primary Source
Record from the past created by people who were actually there. They may include letters, diary entries, official documents, newspaper stories, photographs, drawing and cartoons.
Secondary Source
Accounts of the past written at a later time by people who did not experience the event. They often consult eye witness accounts of the events.
