Standard Deviation (σ)
A simple measure of the variability of a data set
Average of a group of values described as middle point, or central tendency of data
Error Bars
Used to represent the overall distribution of data and that the mean represents the true value
Bell curve
A ploy of a normal distribution of data
Coefficient of variation (V)
The standard deviation expressed as a percentage
Used to measure whether there is a significant difference between the means of two populations
Probably (p or p-value)
The likelihood of obtaining a test statistic result at least as extreme or as close to the one that was actually observed, assuming that the null hypothesis is true
Correlation (r- or r^2-value)
Used to define the extent of relatedness or relationship between two variables
