Ribbon
A strip of icons that appears across the top of the PowerPoint window; divided into tabs, each of which contains groups of related tools.
Font
The size, style, and design of text.
Undo
The command used to reverse one or a series of editing actions. (Ctrl+Z)
Thesaurus
A book of synonyms.
Paste
Inserts cut or copied data at the location of the cursor. (Ctrl+V)
Margins
The white space surrounding the content of a page at the top, bottom, left and right sides, defining where a line of text begins and ends.
Cut
When you cut text from a document to either delete it or move it.
Borders
Lines around the edge(s) of text, a page, a cell, or a table.
Format Painter
A tool to copy character and paragraph formatting.
Template
A document that contains formatting, styles, and sample text that you can use to create new documents.
Indentations
A cut or notch.
Page Orientation
Direction a document is printed. (landscape or portrait)
Copy
Duplicate.
Shading
The representation of light and shade on a drawing or map.
Repeat
To do something over and over again.
Redo
To do something again.
Ribbon Tabs
Organized by task, contain task specific buttons and controls.
Office Button
A central location for managing and sharing documents.
Title Bar
Displays the filename of a document.
Browse Buttons
Buttons that helps you get to the browser faster.
View Ruler Button
Allows you to view/ hide the ruler
Window Controls
Controls at the top right corner of the program window that let you minimize, maximize/restore or close the program window.
Quick Access Toolbar
A small customizable toolbar at the top of the screen with buttons for common commands such as Save and Print.
