concrete Detail
a highly specific, particular, often real, actual or tangible detail; opposite of abstract
connotation
an idea that is implied or suggested
consonance
the property of sounding harmonious
critique
a serious examination and judgment of something
cynic
someone who is critical of the motives of others
deductive reasoning
reasoning from the general to the particular (or from cause to effect)
denotation
the most direct or specific meaning of a word or expression
de'nouement
the final resolution of the main complication of a literary or dramatic work
descriptive detail
graphic, exact, and accurate presentation of the characteristics of a person, place or thing
deus ex machina
any active agent who appears unexpectedly to solve and insoluble difficulty
diction
the manner in which something is expressed in words

instructive (especially excessively)

a turning aside (of your course or attention or concern)
