A compiled t-SQL script that can return a dataset. Can return the recordset from a single script as an inline Table Valued Function or many scripts in sequence. Is not able to perform any permanent changes to data or schema.
An object that can return data from one or many datasets as a new dataset. Constraints can be applied as part of the views definition, when the view is called, or both.
