Frontal bone
This bone forms the forehead, most of the anterior cranial floor, and the roofs of both orbits.
Parietal bone
This bone forms most of the sides of the skull and the roof of the cranial cavity.
Sphenoid bone
This bone is found in the middle region of the base of the skull and helps hold together all of the other major bones of the skull.
Temporal bone
This bone forms the inferior lateral aspects of the cranium and a portion of the cranial floor.
Zygomatic bone
This bone is commonly called the cheekbone and forms part of the lateral wall and floor of each orbit.
