Yesterday, July 19, was National Hot Dog Day - a day to celebrate all things hot dog! Hot dogs have a long and worldly history. Sausages, the tasty focal point of the hot dog, were first mentioned in Homer's Odyssey in the 9th century BC, making sausages one of the oldest processed foods.
