On November 11 in the United States, we observe Veterans Day to honor all of our military veterans.

Previously observed as Armistice Day, the holiday was officially renamed Veterans Day in the U.S. in 1954. In other countries, it is still celebrated as Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, marking the end of World War I and honoring members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty.
