Please help us welcome our new VP of People Operations, Aisha Stephenson. Aisha will be building out our People Ops team, with a focus on promoting our team culture, strengthening our recruiting efforts, and making Quizlet an even more awesome place to work. Aisha grew up in Santa Barbara and attended Cate School in Carpinteria, California. She went on to Stanford University, where she graduated with a degree in American Studies. In her free time, Aisha enjoys watching movies, solving crossword puzzles, and traveling. She also loves listening to true crime podcasts while commuting to and from Quizlet each day.
We're excited to have Aisha at Quizlet! Read on to learn more about her:
Quizlet: If you could learn to do anything, what would you learn?
Aisha: I would learn Japanese. I studied it for a year when I was a senior in high school, but continued with French instead in college. I'd love to finish what I started.
Q: What was one thing you wish you could have changed about high school?
A: Definitely would have gone to the study abroad program in Spain my junior year!
Q: Why did you decide to work at Quizlet?
A: It may be cliché, but it was all about the people (I know — I'm sure all People Ops candidates say that). Quizlet's mission is very compelling on its own, but coupled with the sharp, interesting, funny, and humble Quizlet team members that I spoke with during the interview process, I was hooked from my first conversation.
Q: What was your favorite subject in high school?
A: It's a tie between English and History. I think the common thread for me is the storytelling involved — fiction or nonfiction, it's all compelling to me.
