We’re excited to have him join us in San Francisco! Learn more about Xuanji below:
Quizlet: What was one thing you wish you could have changed about high school?
Xuanji: The transition to university could be smoother - there's a big jump between high school and university, and I don't quite understand why it needs to exist.
Q: Why did you decide to work at Quizlet?
X: I've been interested in education technology for a really long time. All my friends in Canada used Quizlet, I liked the vibe I felt when interviewing, having lunch with current interns, and interacting with the recruiting team.
Q: What was your most rewarding learning experience?
X: As part of the skills curriculum for a music elective I took, we all had to sing some pieces in front of the class every Friday. Most of us were scared of it going in, but the professor (Tim Corlis) was really good at getting us relaxed and walking us through it. I'm glad I stayed on in that class.
Q: What was your favorite subject in high school?
X: I did a lot of physics in high school and enjoyed it the most - I had a great teacher too. For a long time, I thought I would study physics in university.
Q: What's the most interesting article, blog or book you've read recently?
X: HOWTO: Get Tenure by Matt Might - the title suggests that it's practical advice for how to succeed in academia, but it's actually a very deep story of why he chooses to do what he does.
