Cancer
A growth or tumor caused by uncontrolled cell division.
Tumor
Mass of cells that continue to grow and divide uncontrollably
Benign Tumor
A tumor that will not spread cancer to other parts of the body.
Malignant Tumor
A tumor that has the potential of spreading to other parts of the body
Metastasis
The spread of cancer from the first tumor to other places in the body
Mammogram
X-ray examination of the breast, a screening test for cancer.
Biopsy
Removal of a sample of body tissue for examination
CT scan
x-ray images show multiple cross-sectional and other views of organs and tissues

G1 Checkpoint
A point on G1 that decides whether the cell will continue to grow or stop growing (G0)
G0 Phase
A stage outside the cell cycle where the cell stops growing and does not undergo mitosis

the death of cells that occurs as a normal and controlled part of an organism's growth or development.
Necrosis
the death of cells due to external factors such as disease, injury, or failure of the blood supply.

process of using a scope (camera) to look into the body
Radiotherapy
use of radiation to kill cancerous cells

uses beams of light to detect and treat cancer
