Sixth grade mathematics develops mastery in basic computational skills through structured lessons supported by drill and practice, frequent review, and maintenance activities. Concepts include the whole number place value system; Roman numerals; plane geometry;addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers. Fractions and decimals are also included. An introduction to other bases, the metric system, solid geometry, percentages and various problem solving techniques is included as well.
