Step 1
1 of 2a) Abigail is Minister Parris' niece. Abigail came to Parris after her parents were murdered by Native Americans. Readers find out she is a sly character, not afraid to lie her way out of trouble. Abigail was working as a servant at John Proctor's house and fell in love with him. When Proctor's wife, Elizabeth, found out, she fired Abigail. Because of that, Abigail wants her revenge by trying to kill Elizabeth by performing a blood ritual. From this, we can conclude that she was a very vindictive individual.
