In Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare - Friar Lawrence's plan is for Romeo to spend the night before the exile with Juliet and then to leave Verona in the morning and go to Mantua. Friar Laurence promised Romeo that he would do everything in his power to help the young couple, but he had to wait for the right time for their marriage to be revealed and for Romeo to be pardoned and return to Verona to be with Juliet.
