Generally negative feedback mechanism works in a opposite direction of perturbation and stabilizes and attempts to maintain constant conditions. This often results in equilibrium or homeostasis of the system. This type of control takes place in hormonal regulation and temperature regulation of animals. In the case of temperature regulation by sweating, if negative feedback fails, the temperature may rise which is fatal to the body.
