Analyze this scenario. You are a long-distance runner on your school’s track team. How could you use your management skills to make sure you get enough fluids?
Solution
VerifiedIf I was a long-distance runner, I would make sure that I drink water before, during, and after a run. Approximately two hours before the race, I would drink about or glasses of water, and 20 minutes before the race starts, I would drink one more glass. During the run, I would carefully keep track of the time and amount of water I have. I would drink (150 ml) of water every 15 minutes during a run to replace fluids that I lost because of sweating. It is important to find a perfect amount for you because too much water can slow us down or make us feel uneasy, and too little water can lead to dehydration. After the race is over, I would drink glasses of water along with food to restore my energy.
