The first economic change referred to the establishing of partnerships.

Partnerships consisted of several merchants or even several groups of merchants, who gathered their money to invest it in broader projects which could not be funded by a single person. This new way of doing business resulted in capital being far more available.

In addition, the partners did not have to worry so much about any potential risks, since they did not invest all their money, but only a certain portion of it.
