Blue giants have temperatures around 10,000K\geq{10,000 K} while red giants have a surface temperature around 5,000 K. The difference in temperature is because of the type of molecule being burned. The blue giants are burning helium first then it gradually cools down becoming a red giant, like our sun. Then it slowly burns down hydrogen.
