Crust represents the thin, rocky outer layer of Earth which has 2 parts: oceanic and continental.

The oceanic crust is much thinner compared to the continental crust. It is composed predominantly of the igneous rocks basalt and gabbro, whereas the continental crust consists of granitic rock called granodiorite.
