VerifiedThe causes of Russia’s Civil War were- The treaty of Brest-Litovsk that the Bolsheviks signed with Germany surrendering large parts of its territory to the latter was seen as humiliating by many Russians. The Bolshevik policies as well as their murder of the Czar’s family was another cause of dissatisfaction.
Overall, there were several factions that didn't want to see the Bolsheviks in power and the Bolsheviks did not shy away from destroying everyone who stood in their way. After years of civil war, the Bolsheviks finally crushed all opposition and emerged victorious. Russia came out of it as a communist country with a one-party system and an estimated 14 million lives lost.
The causes of Russia's Civil War were the failure of provisional government of Kerensky, the growing power of the soviets, the treaty of Brest-Litovsk angered Russians, and the Bolsheviks wanted to wipe out all their enemies. The outcome was the Bolshevik victory over the Whites and 14,000,000 dead.
