The amount of aldosterone in the blood is related to the composition of blood plasma. For example, when the body notices that the amount of potassium in the body has increased, the stimulation of aldosterone increases. Also, its concentration in the blood is indirectly related to sodium levels. However, sodium levels do not stimulate to that extent, as does potassium.
