Wisconsin Idea was Robert M. La Follette's reform program, which became a model for other states. La Follette's persistence and perseverance in fighting the political machine managed to push through many laws and bring many changes. Later, they based their reforms on the Wisconsin Idea, such as regulating and controlling large companies, introducing direct primary as part of electoral reform, etc.
