Several Chinese rebelled against the Qing dynasty's control throughout the Qing dynasty's reign. So there were numerous rebels at the time, and in order to identify them, the queue style was implemented. Shaving the forehead and braiding their hair into a pigtail are two examples. Those who reject will be labeled as insurgents.
