Distinguish: Ideal and Non-ideal solution

  • An ideal solution is one in which all of the molecules in the solution have the same interactions with each other. Ideal solutions are those that obey Raoult's law throughout the whole concentration range.

  • A non-ideal solution is one in which the interactions between molecules of different components in the solution are not perfect. The term "non-ideal solution" refers to a solution that does not follow Raoult's law.
